WOOF!!! A year ago I saw, met, and went home with my furrrever family!
I'm told that there were two DIFFERENT dogs that made my mom and dad want to attend the adoption event. I come from "Operation Paws for Home" in VA. Dad's co-worker's wife was a volunteer as a foster and had told my mom all about Operation Paws for Home.
Prior to the adoption event on October 3, 2010 mom was viewing a few dog profiles and had a few dogs on hold. Well when mom saw the 2 DIFFERENT dogs in person, she said one was just too big, and the other I lived with while I was being fostered at a house.
Mom and dad thought the OTHER dog was a bit wild, even though he was a puppy like me. I remember seeing mom and dad, and jumping up and downnnnnnnnn!!! "WOOOOF WOOOF!!" I said silently. I really didn't have a handle on my bark (that came a month or so later as I really didn't bark!).
So mom and dad took me on the leash and walked me around in the next door neighbors yard (this family had said all potential adopted dogs could use their yard to get peace and quiet). So I was pretty obedient and very sweet. Mom and dad spent a good 15 minutes with me and agreed I would be a wonderful addition. Next thing I knew mom was filling out all the official paperwork (she was pre-approved a few days prior after a few reference checks/vet checks).
My buddy (the other foster) WAS going to go home with a different family but I think they decided not to get him :( No fear, I'm sure he's adopted (pretty sure from the updates) and it works out in the end for ALL dogs as it was a rescue/foster type of organization.
On the way home, I shortly fell asleep in the back seet, head resting on my mom's lap (daddy drove home).
I am a very lucky dog and I love my family and am spoiled :) Although I live with 6 cats... They're not so bad :)
Glad it worked out everypup got a furever home! You is one spawcial pup!
