Pet-Peeves:
When Daddy is out of the house - she is a 'velcro dog'!

Anything that Daddy is eating.

Favorite Walk:
the meadow on our farm, and the orchard where she love to shove one of those big balls all over the place.

Best Tricks:
high-jump ball retrieval - amazing! The Dallas Cowboys could have used her talents.

Arrival Story:
She was born on the farm next door, in a haystack, on Christmas Day 2001, during the worst ice storm that Arkansas has had in 200 years. He little mom Sassy (at age 7 months) somehow knew to tunnel into the haystack when trees and power lines were crashing all around her, to have her puppies. We got pick of the litter. Given what happened to the rest of the litter (as so often happens here in Arkansas), Holly was a rescue. Update: Her mother, from the ranch next door, seems to have moved 'next door' to our house! The old farmer who owned her does not take care of her now and so we started feeding her and gave her a warm doghouse (she is definitely an outdoor dog, unlike the rest of us).

Bio:
Both parents are full blood ACDs, farm dogs. Around here, Holly is known as a 'throwback' - every few litters, her daddy produced a puppy with her exact coloring (white with black and brown spots) even though he and the mom are both blue. Her 'throwback' characteristics are apparently quite special. Around here, they say that the more white a cattle dog has on it, the smarter it is and the longer it will live.
