Bio:
Castle is a 15 month old boxer boy that found himself in a terrible situation. He was living with a family where the dad thought it was great fun to smack him in the face to see what kind of reaction he would get. The kid in the home thought it was okay and used to smack him too. One day while Castle was asleep on the couch, the kid startled him awake and Castle did what any sleeping dog would do and snapped at the kid. He could have easily bitten him but didn't. Well, apparently that wasn't an acceptable reaction to the dad, so he physically kicked him out the front door and was yelling at him in the front yard. Then he picked Castle up and THREW him into the street, where Castle skidded across the concrete and came up limping. He was so confused and didn't know what he had done wrong. Wasn't he trained to react to being smacked in the face? Wasn't it a game this time? Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, his family yelled at him to leave and went inside and locked the door. Poor Castle waited in the front yard for his family to come outside and play with him, but they never did. A kind neighbor saw what happened and took Castle from the yard to a boarding facility where she works to get him safe and then contacted LBR for help. She knew that Castle wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone. He was only reacting the way he was trained to react. She said that she is certain he was provoked and that all he ever wanted to do is to play and be loved. Thank DOG for the kindness of that neighbor. Legacy Boxer Rescue believes that he deserves a chance to finally have a home where he will only be shown kindness and love and will be shown how to play like a proper boxer. So far in his foster home, he has shown nothing but a gentle, kind nature. His foster mom says that it will have to be the PERFECT home before she lets this sweet boy go. No more kids to taunt him. No more mean dad's to hit him in the face. He is very dog friendly and even lived with a cat in his other home, so we're pretty sure he'll be cat friendly. His perfect home will have no kids under 15 because his foster mom doesn't want him to have to deal with kids that might not have the good sense to let sleeping dogs lie.
