8 years after my parents put down our Beagle, my dad finally felt recovered enough to get a new dog. Several friends of the family had Shih Tzus, and my dad loved the way their eyes seem to pop out of their heads. With his blessing, my mom and I went to a breeder (we didn't think about rescuing then). We wanted a female, since they supposedly make better pets (an unsubstantiated claim), and there she was, playing tug-of-war with a male of the litter using a stuffed cow as bait. We really wanted the male, too, but my dad said no; one dog was adequate. So we took her to my dad at work, set her down on the floor - where she collapsed - and we all fell in love.
Bio:
Annie can't lay down for a second without having a severe case of bedhead. No matter how recently she's been groomed, she always looks unkempt.
We are also busy advocates for the National Alliance for Autism Research and the Alzheimer's Association. You can join us on April 8, 2006 as we Walk F.A.R for NAAR. Exercise your paws and raise awareness for a cause!

It's been a long time since I've written in my diary. I'm just so tired after daycare! I love daycare. I get to play and sleep and sunbathe... It's all so exhausting! Then, when I get home, I have so many responsibilities! I have to eat, drink, play with my toys, reorganize my toys, redo my bedding, take a nap on my mat, take a nap on the couch, play with my toys, take a nap on my mat... After all that, it's time for bed!

Annie is everything I need, exactly when I need it. When I'm down, she's a clown. When I'm sad, she gently sniffs and licks my face until I stop crying. When I'm tired, she lays next to me until I fall asleep. Did I mention she thinks I hung the moon? She is the reason the quote exists: "Make me the person my dog thinks I am."

Today I graduated from Petsmart Advance Training. I'm so excited. Everyone said I couldn't do it, and I was second best in the class! Our teacher, Amber, just loves me. Next it's on to Click-A-Trick!
