Tomorrow is my first dock diving competition and I am nervous. It's at Cabela's and although it's into a pool, I am use to jumping in the pool at Coleen's but jumping in front of a lot of people with a lot of dogs around, I don't know about that? But it's Megan's first time too and I want to make her proud of me and not embarrass her so I'll do my best. I still don't do the running jump, but mom said I do a pretty decent standing jump so I could make the finals depending on how far I stretch out and push off when I jump. I'll do my best, but hope my nerves calm down. Wish us luck!!

Yep, I did it again, I went and got myself in trouble. Yesteday dad went outside to cut grass and he let us dogs inside and let me out of my crate because he felt bad that I would be stuck in it all day. So he turned on Animal Planet then went outside. Usually I'm content to sit and watch Animal Planet, but nothing good what on so I decided to check out what was on the table by the sofa. Boy there was some good stuff there! There was a box of chocolates that had about 8 pieces left in it... yummy! Of course, I had to tear the box up when I was finished with it. Then I found the two containers of hand cream. One was pink and it tasted yucky so that didn't last long. It did get all over the sofa, floor and my paws... YUCK! There was a box of tissues... I LOVE TISSUES! I like to shred them up and make confetti out of them:) There was also a couple of little candles and I licked them but they were yucky too so I just dropped them on the floor. After I finished with that table, I went over to the other one. I found a newspaper that I of course had to shred to pieces. Then I found a TV remote and had to sharpen my teeth on that a bit. Those little pieces get caught in your teeth though and are kind of scratchy when you swallow them. I was working on the remote when dad opened the door and called us to come out to potty. He didn't see what I did until after I was already outside so he didn't yell then, but boy did I get in trouble when I came back in. He was SOOOOOOO mad at me!!! I got my butt smacked and he was yelling at me so loud, I know the neighbors could have heard him if they were outside. Needless to say, I had to go to my crate. I heard him call mom and tell her what I did and he was just so mad. I know, I know, I shouldn't have done it, but I just couldn't help myself. But I knew there was NO chance of dad letting me out of the crate so I just settled down for a nap.
Mom came home after work and I could tell she was upset. She didn't let me out of the crate either. She said that I need to learn that I can't do that kind of thing and that dad said I was only allowed out to potty and eat dinner. Wow, they were mad!! Mom eventually let me out after she cleaned up my mess and she let me stay out while she cleaned our "bombs" out of the yard, but then she put me back in the crate. I was stuck in there until later at night when mom let me out to eat dinner. She did let me stay out while they watched TV, but I had to lay on the floor and wasn't allowed to play or lay on the sofa. Then, when it was bedtime, I was put in my crate. Dad said there was NO WAY I was sleeping in the bedroom tonight. This did NOT make me happy and I barked and howled wanting out of my crate. Mom came out and scared the poop out of me when she slapped on my crate and told me to be quiet and go to bed. I didn't see her because they put a blanket over it at night and that's why I jumped. Anyway, when mom did that, I knew she meant business and I wasn't getting out so I just laid down and went to sleep. I guess I better think twice before I do something like that again because I do NOT like being stuck in my crate all the time.

Last night was my last obedience class. I was a bit rambunctious because I hadn't done a whole lot the past few days so I didn't do too well when we did our healing exercise. I was miss "jumping bean" as mom calls me. And all the distractions the instructor put on the floor I fell for. I just had to stop at each and every one of them and check them out. I really didn't pay any attention to mom at all. I actually was the worst one in the class for the healing exercises last night:( Mom didn't get too upset though because she knew it was partly her fault because we hadn't practiced much because of what's been going on at home. She was very proud of me though when we did our sit and down stays. I actually won a prize for the longest down stay. Heck, I could have laid there all night. And mom didn't even have to give me any treats to make me stay there:) She was very proud of me for that. I almost won the sit stay too, but I got tired of sitting so I laid down. Us aussies tend to do that. We got to play hide and seek one time, but I caught on to the hiding place by watching the other dogs so when it was mom's turn to hide, I knew where she was and really didn't want to go find her so I decided I wanted to go visit with BJ instead. That's the big boy Airedale. Mom had to call me twice, but I finally found her. But like I said, it wasn't because I didn't know where she was, it was just because I already knew where she was and it really wasn't much fun trying to find someone when you know where they were already hidden. At the end of class, we got our certificates for completing the class, a treat that was shaped like a toothbrush and a bag of treats. Mom said I did very well in the class, even though my healing wasn't the greatest. I'm going to miss my friends from class, but mom said maybe we'll see them if they have a obedience II class later in the summer. That would be great!! When we got home and Chloe saw my toy that I won, of course she tried to take it from me, but I wouldn't let her. Hey, I won that fair and square and she wasn't getting it! Mom told dad all about the good job I did in my stays and he was proud of me too:)

I mentioned in my previous entry that my horsie Tequilla is sick and she had to go to the horsie hospital Sunday night. Mom said that she broke out of her paddock and she and Trinity (the boy horse) when running around the neighborhood in the middle of the night and she must have eaten something and it made her really sick. She had toxins in her system and they had to get them out of her.
Monday night we went to visit Tequilla. Us dogs weren't allowed out of the car, but we could see her from where we were and she didn't look good. She was laying down in her stall and I NEVER saw her laying down since I've known her. I watched mom sit with her and hold her head in her lap. She looked like a very sick horsie:( Mom was with her for a long time and then another girl went over and made Tequilla get up and that's when mom started walking Tequilla. She brought her over to the car so we could see her. She didn't nudge at us or knicker like usual. She just looked at us and I knew she was sick because my Tequilla always nudged at me and I would nudge her back. It was just something we did to each other. It was so sad to see her like that and I was worried about her. Mom let us say "Hi" to her for a few minutes then took her for her walk and tried to get her to graze, but Tequilla wanted no part of the grass. That's when you really know she's sick because Tequilla drags mom all over the place just to get to grass and to see that she wouldn't eat any, that's not good! Mom eventually took her back to the stall and then the doctor went in with them for a little. Not long after that mom came back to the car and we headed home. It was a quite ride home because we were all worried about Tequilla and when mom looked at me, I titled my head to let her know that she would be okay.
When we were watching TV that night, mom wanted one of us to cuddle with her and Chloe wouldn't go to mom so I took advantage of that and I jumped up with mom and let her hold me because I know that's what she needed. I saw how bad Tequilla looked and all we wanted is for her to get better.
Tuesday mom went to see Tequilla again, but this time grandma went along so us doggies stayed home. Mom was in a much better mood when she came home and she said that Tequilla is doing much better:) The toxins are out of her system, but she might have a stomach ulcer so they are treating her for that. However, if she does okay through the night, she'll get to come home Wednesday. I was keeping my paws crossed!!
Wednesday mom and dad both came home from work early because Tequilla was going home!!! They both took off work early to get Tequilla home, but also so I could make my last obedience class. I'll tell you about that later. Anyway, mom said the treatment for Tequilla's ulcer was working and also she had microfractures in her right coffin bone and high suspensory something or other in her left leg, she was allowed to come home, but they had to keep her in the stall and do the whole handwalking thing. Mom didn't care what they had to do, she just wanted her home! I felt better seeing mom happy and not so worried. I was bouncing off the walls though because us dogs haven't really done much since the cabin and I really needed to run around and play, but I understand because of what's been happening with Tequilla and I knew mom would be back to her old self once Tequilla was healthy again:)

Boy did I have a fun weekend! I got into a little trouble, but other than that, it was lots of fun!!
We got to the cabin in the afternoon and Chloe and I ran around and played tag and frisbee. A little while later, our friend Tanner C. showed up. That was a great surprise!! It was so nice to have someone new to play with. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with my big sister, but after a while, she gets tired of playing with me and goes running to mom. But now I had someone else to chase me and hopefully he wouldn't get tired of me. Tanner seemed just as happy to see us as we did him. We ran all over the place. His mom was afraid that he was going to run out of the yard, but he wasn't going anywhere cause he was too worried about playing. Plus, we have so much yard/field to play in he could go pretty far and not be out of the yard. It didn't take long til Tanner found the creek. Usually mom doesn't let us in the creek, but I guess because we had a guest she thought it would be okay so we got to play in the creek a little. The water was COLD, but boy was it fun getting all wet and splashing around:D We played outside until dinner time then we all went inside and crashed for a little while our parents ate. We even got some yummy steak after they were finished:) Everyone was pretty tired so we just watched a little TV then headed to bed. Since we had guests, mom put up the fan across the doorway to our bedroom (we don't have an actual door) to keep me in the room. Yeah, right! I knocked it town a few times and boy did that make a loud noise. One time dad shot out of bed like a rocket. I think he thought it was a gunshot or something. When he saw it was me knocking the fan over, he wasn't happy and I knew I better just stay laying on my bed.
Saturday morning I did push my way passed the fan without knocking it over and I went to wake up Barb and Randy. I hopped up on their bed and gave Barb a bunch of kisses and bounced around on her belly. I thought it was fun, but I don't think she thought it was. I guess I am getting a little too big for that kind of stuff now. Tanner was laying on the floor and I tried to get him to come up on the bed with us, but he wouldn't. Oh well, his lose. Everyone finally did get up and mom made her usual croissant sandwich breakfast for everyone. That meant yummy bacon for us doggies! After breakfast our parents went to check out the tornado damage and to Cheese Nook, but us doggies had to stay at the cabin:( Mom said there just wasn't enough room in the truck for 4 people and 3 dogs, but she promised to take us for ice cream when they got back. Needless to say, I was soooooooooo bored while they were gone so I had to find a way to entertain myself. I found Barb and Randy's snack bag sitting on the floor by the cabinet in the kitchen and I just had to check it out. Boy did they have some good stuff in there! Popcorn, cashews, bread, hot chocolate mix, basil (YUCK!), wheat thins, all kind of goodies. I just started tearing all the stuff out of the bag. Chloe, she ran and hid in the bedroom, but Tanner watched me for a few minutes, then he decided to join in the fun. I guess he figured once it was out of the bag he couldn't get in trouble for it. We ate until our bellies were full. Of course, after eating, I had to wipe my mouth so I found a box of tissues and shredded them up trying to get them out of the box. Well, I bet you guess what happened when our parents got back... yep, they were infuriated!! Chloe, she made a beeline out the door so quick because she just wanted as far away from the fireworks she knew were coming. Tanner and I just made a fast getaway so we were out of the cabin before our moms could really see the damage we caused. I could hear my mom yelling the whole way outside. I got to admit, we did make quite a mess. We had the hot chocolate mix all over the floor in a few places. The basil for all over the place, along with popcorn kernals, wheat thins and all the tissues that I shredded. It did look like a tornado went through the cabin. Mom says she wishes she would have taken a picture, but she was just so angry at the time she didn't even thing about it. Needles to say, Tanner and I both got in trouble and were put in a timeout. Mine was longer though because mom said she knows I was the ringleader and she's right I was. I had to stay in the house, in the bedroom while everyone was outside enjoying the beautiful day:( After an hour later, mom did let me out, but I had to stay with her and I really wasn't allowed to run around and play and believe me, I didn't push my luck because I know mom was mad. About another hour and she finally let me play. Boy, that was a very long timeout, but I learned my lesson and I'm not touching anything anymore that's for sure! But at least mom let it go and didn't keep at me about it. She let me go on to play and have fun and I made up for my lost two hours. I played in the creek, played chase and frisbee. Oh yeah, we didn't get to go for ice cream though:( And poor Chloe, she was the one who suffered for what Tanner and I did because she didn't even do anything and she still wasn't getting ice cream. Sorry Chloe!Later on us dogs went along with mom and Barb when they took the Kubota for a ride through the woods. We went up a really steep hill and it was funny cause Chloe and Tanner were lacking behind while I was way in front. Guess that's the advantage of being a pup. After dinner we all hung out by the campfire for a little while and that was nice. I love hanging out in the dark because it's a whole different world. New sights and sounds to explore. Mom gets worried about skunks, even though we haven't seen any at the cabin yet. I went on my search for some sticks and brought them back. Hey, they need wood for the fire, right? We stayed outside for a long time, but then our moms went spotting deer in the kubota and us dogs had to go in the cabin with our dads. I wanted to go along, but mom said no because you never know what critters we might run into and it's too hard to keep track of us in the dark. I was sad about not being able to go, but I was kind of tired too so I didn't fight too much when I had to go in the cabin. I made sure to stay in my bedroom and not knock the fan over either cause I know how upset that made dad. To tell you the truth, I was just too tired to do much of anything except sleep.
Sunday morning we were woken up by the phone. Theresa called mom to tell her that Tequilla was sick. I'll fill you in on this in another post just about Tequilla, but the long and short of it is that after breakfast we were packing up and heading home. It was raining today anyway so we wouldn't have been able to do anything so I didn't mind. When we got home, mom headed straight to the barn and I didn't see her until hours later. Dad left shortly after mom and he was gone for a long time too. They both finally came home and mom seemed upset. She said Tequilla had to go to the horsie hospital because she was really sick. I did my best to be a good girl because I knew mom was upset. When mom gave me my bath I stood there for her and didn't fight at all. I cuddled with her on the sofa later to try and make her feel better too.
Other than me getting in trouble for tearing up the snack bag, I had a really, really fun weekend with my big sis and Tanner. I hope Tanner comes up to visit us again at the cabin when it's even warmer and mom takes us to the big creek swimming. That will be lots of fun!!

This week has been pretty uneventful, except Wednesday, now that was a fun evening!
We got to go swimmy!!! Mom made us practice a lot though because we have our first competition of the year next weekend and Megan is going to be my handler. It is my first competition ever and the same thing for Megan so I'm sure we'll both be a little nervous, but at least I jump for Megan, not like my sister. Chloe will only jump for mom and NO ONE ELSE! Me, I could care less about where mom is. Not cause I don't care, just because I want to jump and have fun and I know Megan likes to do that too:) So Megan and I practiced and we did really well. Mom said that even though I'm not doing a running jump yet, she thinks I might make novice finals if I keep jumping the way I am now. The only thing she thinks might happen is that I might jump my way right into the junior division. Which is good because I jump further, but then I don't make finals and she would really like to see both Megan and I make finals. Regardless, she just wants us both to have a good time! After we practiced mom let Chloe and I have a little free swimmy time and that was FUN!!!! Except for the one time when Chloe jumped right on top of me and pushed me way under the water. I was like, "what the heck?" I got her back though and yanked the toy right out of her mouth! Yes, we play rough, but we love each other:)
After swimmy time, I had to go to obedience class. Mom thought that swimming before would tire me out for class... WRONG!! I was even more hyper and didn't want to listen too good. I did eventually settle down, but did horrible on my sit stays for the recall. Mom said I'm as solid as a rock on those and she has no idea why I kept breaking. It was because Chloe was in the room with me. Mom put her in one of the crates while I was in my class and that was a big distraction for me cause I just wanted her to come out and play with all of us. The teacher said it's good for me to have that kind of distraction, but I didn't do too well. I did get better toward the end of class though. Next week is our last class and we're having competitions to see who does the different exercises better and we get prizes so I better step up my game if I want to prove that us aussies are the best!
Yesterday morning was a kind of scary morning. A really, really bad storm came through even before mom's alarm went off. We were all huddled on the bed together and the rain was pouring so hard, the wind was blowing, lightening flashing and thunder cracking so loud it made me jump a couple of times. Mom said she thought a tornado was coming the way it was acting outside. I don't know what a "tornado" is, but I can't be good by the sound of things outside. Heck, the whole house was shaking at one point. I wasn't quite as upset as Chloe, she was really panting, but I was nervous. After what seemed like forever, it finally stopped and cleared up. Thank goodness!!
Today we're heading to the moutains... YIPEE!!!! It's not suppose to rain at all either so that will be a nice change. I should have a lot of with Chloe and our friend Tanner C. who is coming for the weekend and I just can't wait. Mom gets off work early then we're headin out and I can't get there fast enough!
I hope everyone weathered the storms and tornados and that you enjoy your weekend:)

I know, I know, I'm a couple days late, but better late than never! Mom has been really busy and we all know dogs can't type. I tried, but made a mess of the keyboard... BOL:D So Happy Belated Easter to everyone! I hope you all had a nice day and got a bunch of goodies.
For me it was a nice day. It was my first big outing with the family. All the Waples came to dinner at our house, except Ali who lives in California. We had 11 people total and mom and dad cooked. Boy did the house smell good!!! I was a good girl and stayed out of the kitchen the entire time and I didn't jump on people or bark when they showed up either. Chloe on the other hand kept getting in trouble cause she wouldn't stop barking. Oh yeah, and gues what else? I didn't have any accidents, not even when Brett came!!!! Mom was soooo proud of me:) My said I did the bestest when everyone was eating and she told us to stay in the other room. She didn't want us near the dining room where everyone was eating and I listened, but Chloe, now that was a different story. She kept sneaking in and going beside Poppy Waple. Mom made her leave two times and the third time she put her in the bedroom. I felt bad for her, but hey, you gotta listen. Me, I stayed where mom told me to so I didn't have to go anywhere and I was rewarded by being able to play with Brett when he was finished eating. Chloe eventually was allowed out after everyone was done.
After dinner and after everyone left, us doggies went with mom to the barn to give Tequilla her Easter treats. It was nice to go and visit with T for a little bit. We didn't do much there since she was still on stall rest, but she was happy to see us:) She was still by herself since Ty was put down on Wednesday, but the other horses would be back on Monday so she'd soon have company. We visited with T for a little while then headed back home. That's when I got my Easter dinner and boy was it YUMMY!! Mom gave me some Easter ham and I took my time eating it cause I wanted to enjoy every bit:D The rest of the evening we didn't do a whole lot, but that's okay cause I was pretty pooped from our busy day of visiting with the family.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter and will have a nice week. We had to the mountains this weekend and I will be sure to fill you all in on my adventures.
P.S. Last Friday mom gave me a haircut and she said I keep getting better and better at behaving on the grooming table. I still don't like that nail grinder though!

I had a fun night with mom last night! First we stopped at this place where mom picked up our Easter ham... boy did that ham smell good!!! She put it in a cooler in the back, but I could smell it the whole way up front and it was so yummy I wished I could eat it! But mom said not til Easter.
After we left there, we went to E-Town Manor to deliver Easter cards for Chloe. Mom isn't able to make a visit with Chloe this week, so she wanted to at least drop off their Easter cards and thought it would be nice if I could help so the residents could at least see a dog, even if it was only for a couple of minutes. I was at the Manor once before and I did pretty well. I go as a "friend" to visit since I'm not part of the Kpets program yet like Chloe. Mom said I did pretty good this time too, except I didn't want to get on the elevator the first time. I just don't know what it is about that thing? But I must admit, by our last trip down to leave, I walked right on with mom and she was very proud of me:D We delivered all of Chloe's cards and made a lot of people happy that they got an unexpected visit. They really liked Chloe's cards too:) It was funny though because at first everyone was like "Chloe you made it!" And mom was like, "No, this isn't Chloe, it's Echo." Everyone always gets us mixed up from a distance, but we are really different up close cause of my brown and of course I'm thinner. And we are definitely 180 out on personalilites! I got to meet Kelsey's grandpa and he had this machine thing hooked up to him that made a noise that I didn't like at first. Mom said it was for his oxygen. Mom said I did really well though cause I went up to him so he could pet me even though I wasn't sure of that thing that was making a noise. She said I'll make a good therapy dog once I leave patience and to settle a bit. I still have a lot of energy and I could never do an hour or hour and a half visit like Chloe does. My attention span is just too short for that. But mom said I did excellent for the short time we were there and she was very proud of me:)
After we left the Manor we went to my obedience class. Let me tell you, it must have been the warm weather because most of us doggies had some spring to our step. I was all over the place when we did our healing exercise. I could tell mom was not happy so I did better the second time around. Mom said I did excellent on my sit and down/stays and the instructor always uses me as an example for the recalls because mine is so strong. She even tried to get me to break my recall by putting a toy right in my line of recall, but I totally ignored it and the class was amazed that I didn't even blink at it. Mom was VERY proud of me:D My strong recall comes from all our of work for dock diving. Now, if I could just get a bit better on my other things I'd be good to go.
I was asleep before we were out of the driveway. I was soooo tired! We did a lot in a short amount of time this evening. But my little nap gave me a second wind to play with Chloe when we got home. That is, after she got done scolding mom for not taking her along with us. Boy was she upset! She kept whining at mom and giving her heck for leaving her at home. I just stayed out of it until she was done and then I played with Chloe for a while when mom and dad were watching TV. I finally got tired and hopped up with mom and fell asleep on mom's chest. Mom says I snore, but I don't believe her.
All in all, I had a very exciting evening with mom and I'm glad I got to spend some one-on-one time with her. It's nice to do that with her from time to time:)

I did a VERY bad thing last night. Mom took Chloe and I for a nice long walk. It was a beautiful evening and mom didn't need to be anywhere until 630pm so she thought it was be the perfect time for us to go for a walk. I was really happy to be going too since dad was out cutting grass and us dogs had to stay inside. So mom hooked me to the leash, grabbed our poop bags and off we went. Chloe doesn't walk on a leash cause she's so good and mom said someday I won't have to either, but for now, I need to learn to walk without pulling and I wasn't doing to well at the moment. Hey, what can I say, I was happy to be out on this beautiful, non raining, non windy day. We don't get many of these! So we were walking down the other end of the development when two boys came over and wanted to pet us. Mom said they could, but we had to sit first. Mom had me on a very short leash and mad me and Chloe sit. We both sat and I wagged my tail for them to pet me. One boy pet me and one boy pet Chloe. Then, for no reason at all, I suddenly jumped up and snapped at the one boy in the face. Yes, you heard me right, I snapped at the one boy. He went running, crying back home and mom grabbed my mouth and was infuriated with me. She had no idea I would ever do that and honestly, I don't know why I did. The boy didn't do anything to me, he was being very nice. Mom was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad at me! After she finished correcting me, she went to check on the boy and it took a while for the boy to come over so she could see him, but fortunately I didn't hurt him. I didn't leave any marks and I scared him more than anything. Mom made sure that I stayed behind her the entire time so I didn't scare the poor boy anymore than I already had. Mom felt so bad and she was just so upset by what I did and the dad finally came out and mom talked to him a little and he was really nice and told mom not to worry about it that the boy is fine and they have two boxers and he gets roughed up all the time. She thanked him for being so understanding and we continued on.
But I know mom was really, really upset because the entire way home I was on the shortest leash ever and everytime I looked at her she had the angriest look on her face and whenever she talked to me she had that "tone" in her voice. She was still very mad. I don't know why I did it, I just did. Maybe it's cause when I was a puppy and all those kids bombarded me and it scared me now I don't like younger kids, I don't know. I just did it and I can't take it back. I wish I could. I just know that mom is upset at me and I don't like it:( Mom said that I better straighten my butt out because that behavior it NOT acceptable. When we got home her and Chloe went somewhere and because dad was still cutting grass I had to go in my crate. I figured it was part of my punishment for what I did.
When mom got back and let me out, she was STILL upset. Can you believe it? Boy I must have really messed up. I better really think twice next time I'm around another kid. Although, I honestly don't think mom will let me be around any other kids for a very long time afte that. Anyway, I tried to make up to her by waiting for her outside the shower like I normally do, but she just stared at me. I followed her upstairs while she got dressed and I didn't even chase the cat when mom let her out to go downstairs. I saw her face soften a little and she actually talked to me without the "tone". FINALLY she was starting to get over it, but now I knew "the talk" was coming and sure enough, she sat me down on the steps and we had "the talk" about what I had done and how I can't do that kind of thing and how we are going to have to correct it. Of course, me being the pup that I am, I cuddled up against mom's chin and gave her my big brown puppy dog eyes and she couldn't help but smile and give me a kiss. I knew she wouldn't forget what I did, but I knew she still loved me:)

Boy did we ever have a fun weekend in the mountains!! It was me, Chloe, mom, Nancy and Megan. We went up Friday and got there around 6. Us doggies ran around like nuts. It was really warm, but windy. Everyone unpacked and did some things around the cabin and a little later mom cooked on the grill, but I got in a little trouble cause I put my paws up on the side to see what she was cooking and almost spilled the entire plate of burgers... opps! Mom said I can be lucky that I didn't touch the grill or I would have really learned a lesson cause I would have burned my paws. Glad I didn't do that. After dinner we went spotting deer. We didn't see many though and mom said it was cuz rain was coming and the deer are too smart and already bedding down sleeping. But we did have lots of fun playing dancing car and driving dark. I never played them before and I really didn't like dancing car much and I clung to Nancy the whole time. Dancing car is when mom swerves the car back and forth like it's dancing. Everyone else was laughing like crazy and poor Chloe even hit the door one time. She was okay though. I didn't like it cuz it made me kind of motion sick. But I liked driving dark:) That's when mom would turn off her headlights and drive in the dark using the sky to navigate. That was sooooo cool! And we did come across some kind of bird that was laying in the road that mom had to go check out. She wasn't sure if it was hurt or not and you know mom the animal lover that she is... out she goes and the next thing I know, the bird is flying onto the bank and running into the woods. Mom said it was a grouse and that it was fine. I wanted to go out and chase it, but Nancy had a hold of me and wouldn't let me out:( Oh well, maybe next time. When we got back to the cabin we were all pretty tired and headed to bed.
Saturday was not a nice day, it just rained all day long and boy was it WINDY!! Me, I don't mind that kind of weather at all. In fact, when mom let us out to potty, I wanted to play, but Chloe wouldn't play with me:( We really didn't get to do much that day. Mom, Megan and Nancy went to some craft stores and stuff and us dogs stayed at the cabin. Mom turned on Animal Planet for us, but I kind of got bored and looked for something to do. I found the shoe box that mom puts her muddy shoes in and decided it would be a good idea to chew that up. It was a lot of fun and I shredded it to pieces! However, when mom came home she didn't think my idea was as good as I thought and boy was she mad. Her tone said it all and the fact that she brought us ice cream and Chloe got her's and I didn't get mine said it all. I was very sad that I didn't get to eat my ice cream, but I knew what I did wrong so I guess I just had to suck it up and take my punishment. I tried to make up to mom and laid with her on the sofa while they watched a movie, but I could tell she was still upset. It wasn't until later on that night after dinner that she finally gave me my ice cream. That's when I knew my punishment was finally over. One thing I can tell you for sure, I won't be chewing up anymore boxes anytime soon. Later that night mom was watching a horse auction on TV and I was watching too. The horses were running around on the TV and I wanted to catch them! After that, they played some shooting game and when I saw ducks flying on the screen, mom had to grab me so I didn't jump into the TV trying to catch them... BOL:D Even though it rained all day and I did get in trouble, we made the most of it and had some good times.
Sunday it finally stopped raining, but was still really windy. We took a Kubota ride up to visit Clair and Velma. Nancy drove so us doggies rode in the back with Megan. We played outside with mom, Megan and Nancy visited. When we went back to the cabin, we played outside while everyone else packed up to go home. We left around 2pm, but inside of going straight home, we stopped at a place called the Red Rabbit. It is a place you eat where the waitress comes to your car and takes your order. You put your window down and they put the tray right on it. Talk about service! Mom even got Chloe and I a bunny burger and it was sooooo good! Don't worry, it wasn't a real bunny, that's just what they call it. We did have water, but mom kind of messed that up and totally embarassed herself too. Since it was so windy, mom put the window up a little until we were done eating. She went to get us our water and hit the button to put the window down. However, she forgot that she has automatic windows in her car so when she hit the button it put the windwo the whole way down so CRASH!!! the tray went to the ground. Everyone looked at us and I hid behind the seat. I didn't to it!! Mom was embarassed and we never did get our water. But we were only a little way from home so it's not like we were going to thirst to death. But it was embarassing and that's why I hid. Moms!
When we got home us dogs just chilled and watched TV. Mom and Megan went to the barn and mom took Megan home. I didn't have to go in my crate and I made sure I didn't destroy anything because I knew that I would get in big trouble for that. Plus, dad was going to be the one to come home and find my mess and that would NOT be a good thing. I was happy to see dad when he got home from work and didn't even have an accident when I saw him:)
Other than my little mishap with the box, I had a fun girls weekend in the mountains:)
