Arrival Story:
Samson was abandoned in my neighborhood when he was less than a year old and I rescued him. I tried for weeks to see if anyone had lost him, but I guess they didn't want him. Who knows why though he's an amazing dog! He is now a working assistance dog that allows me to have more freedom than I could have ever imagined years ago. He's graying a little but I think he'll be working for a couple more years. When he tells me he doesn't want to work anymore, I'll let him.

Bio:
Samson is a medical assistance service dog and he is the absolute light of my life. He is my heartdog and my best friend. He helps me with mobility and other needs. He's also a certified therapy dog and enjoys visiting people on his free time. Samson's one busy pup.

Samson the service dog's day

A Super Day at the Mall

Today Mom and I had an amazing time shopping. First we met up with our service dog friend Fetcher and his mom, and we went to the Cheesecake Factory. The staff was wonderful and the waiter gave me a very nice pat after asking my mom if she could.

Then we went into the mall. Mom and her friend weren't really shopping, they just love getting together to go out with me and my pal Fetcher. We went into lots of stores and we all had a great time enjoying eachother's company. Mom was frustrated by a few people that stood in our way even after seeing us coming and wouldn't allow us to pass. She thinks it's rude to obstruct a service dog team. Also when we were going out of a store a woman came walking up and said, "Oh are those service dogs?!" Then the lady just came over, got in our way, and started petting Fetcher. Mom and her friend we flustered by the situation and wish they would have said something. Next time I guess. We then finished the day by going to Robeks to get some very yummy vegan cookies, which mom graciously shared with me since I was such a super boy today.

Mom and her friend decided they'll have to do this again soon, it's great to have friends to spend the day with.

A CGC test and A Movie

Even though I've been a service dog for years now, my mom has never had me tested for a CGC. So just as another thing to do together, mom and I took our Canine Good Citizen Test today. Of course I passed with flying colors and now I'm official!

After that mom and I went to see Dolphin Tale. It was great! I slept through most of the movie but I got up to check on mom twice to see if she was ok. My tail thumped against a nearby chair so mom told me to lay back down. I put my head on her feet so we could both be happy. I sure hope mom will bring me to the movies again soon.

Tampa Channelside and a Basketball Game

About two weeks ago mom and I went to a fun dog meet-up, Tampa Channelside for lunch, and a basketball game.

The dog meet-up was great fun and I was the best behaved one there, as usual. We drove to Channelside which was a cool place with a bunch of resturaunts and shops near the ocean harbor. Mom had lunch and I layed by her side, I watched all of the people walk by and the boats sail by.

Later we went to a basketball game. We weren't in the place for more than a minute before two girls came over to pet me, mom said yes. The girls stayed for a while which bothered mom a little but eventually they left when mom stopped asking questions. Mommy was a little overwhelmed so I layed on her legs and made her pet me to calm her. She liked that a lot. Mom was impressed with me because there were loud whistles constantly and since we were right on the floor in front the players were running straight at us and I never budged. Overall the b-ball game was great fun.

This summer has been a wonderful one so far.
