Arrival Story:
I originally saw "Max" on petfinders. I had been looking for a labradoodle for several months. I have wanted one for over a year but had not found the right one. I was not "buying" a dog. I wanted to adopt. (and I can't afford a $2000 pet as a single parent) I had seen several on petfinders but most were too far away for me to travel or the rescue wouldn't allow adoptions that far. I finally saw Max and he was only 45 minutes away. I filled out the adoption application and was approved only to find out Max had already been adopted. Back to the drawing board.... A couple of weeks later I got a phone call. The lady who had adopted Max had allergies. She does well with poodles and thought she would with Max also, but found out she couln't. So suddenly I had the opportunity to adopt him after all. We are still settling in, but considering his traumatic beginnings he's great. I got a puppy and he's already crate trained, "mostly" potty trained, and we're working on simple commands and leash now. He's great. He loves everyone, and wants to be right by my side. I am looking forward to the next 10- 15 yrs..

Bio:
12/2011-- Max has grown into a sweet loving bear of a dog. Estimated wt when he adopted us was 55-65 pounds... well that has turned into 80-85 pounds and his head is at my waist when he sits. He's as gentle as he is big though. He is a great friend and protector of my 5 year old son. They have started a mutual admiration society!!!
