Buddha and the Bootie!

I got bootie!

No, not like a buried treasure.

No, not like a sudden big bee-hind.

A SHOE! A little bootie-shoe for my lone back leg!

I run around a lot, and lately I've scratched the top of my foot, and it bleeds! Sometimes it doesn't do what I want, so I just drag it along!

Mom and Dad took me to a fancy-pants store where girls LOVED on me, I was SOOO happy! We tried on shoes and I got to pick out a bone, too! We also got a softish toy for Frankie!

I like my one back shoe. Sometimes. It's good for fun play, but I'm still getting used to it. No more boo-boo's for Buddha! That's 'cause Buddha has a bootie!

WHAT is going ON?!?

What's going on?

I've been so overwhelmed lately, all these changes and do my Mommy and Daddy still love me? They DO? Ohhh, good!

Then Frank came home and smelled all interesting! Mama and Daddy wouldn't let me near him, Mama said I'm not gentle enough! I was so curious and concerned! I stayed outside Frank's crate and sniffed and whined!

When Frank slept in his crate I stayed out there with him, holding an all-night (almost...) vigil! My most favorite playmate! What's going ON???

Luckily this morning we were all reunited! I got to sniff sniff and tell Frank, "We didn't play AT ALL yesterday! LET'S PLAY! LET'S PLAY!!!"

Frank said okay, but just a little bit!

Wow, that was weird! I'm tuckered out! Time for a nap!

A little insecure?

Mama thinks I'm a little insecure. Maybe a bit overwhelmed from the transition from my BAD life to my GOOD life. I was rescued by the family in August, and we MOVED in December... I was a good fun boy at the dog park maybe two times, but now I get all excited and make big growls and snap at the other doggies!

I get growly when they smell my stump too much, and when they are running toward me! I stay on a leash now so Mama or Daddy will make sure no one hurts me.

Maybe there are too many dogs? Maybe I'm overwhelmed? Underexercised? We walk, but Mama doesn't want to stress out my ONE BACK LEG - a.k.a. my turkey leg! Daddy says she's overprotective of my leggie-leg but she thinks she's being smart-cautious.

Why am I snappy at the dog park? I WANT to have fun, I WANT to play, but I get snappy right away! Mama says it's a phase. She's gonna teach me more tricks so I learn something called 'confidence'. She says it should help.

My furst snow!

I met snow yesterday for the first time ever! It's this weird floofy weather, and it's white!

At first it was like real soft rain, and it tickled me when it landed on my fur and eyes! It was REAL cold, too!

Once the snow made the ground white, it got fun!! Me and Frank and Joey RAN & RAN & RAN & RAN! Around the pool fence and through the snow! Up and down and all around! It was really fun!

Then the door opened and I ran right inside!

Mama and Daddy say I'm the sensible one because I come inside sooner than the other dogs! You know, it IS fun, but it's COLD out there! Brrrr! I don't have no super fluffy fancy double coat or anything! My coat is for looks! My fleece coat, now THAT'S for cold!

I really like looking at the snow and playing in it! I'm still pretty excited about squirrels, though. They're still my #1! I watch for them a lot in the trees!

Naptime! I'm gonna take a nap in the sun, inside! It's cozy in here! I'll go outside soon so when I come in Mama and Daddy will cuddle me until I'm warm!

Squirrel!!!

I've got squirrel on the brain!

This morning there was a REAL LIVE squirrel in a BIG tree in our yard!

Me and Joey had it on lockdown! She was on one side, I was on the other! It's a BIG tree!

Daddy said, "You can't climb trees!" to me! Oh yeah? Watch me! I was perched up on my only back leg with both front feets on the tree!

I'm a terrier, and THAT'S a SQUIRREL!

We went to the dog park, but I couldn't stop thinking about that squirrel! The other dogs started LOOKING like squirrels! I'm in no mood to lollygag around with other dogs! I'm in HUNTING MODE! Rawr!!

When we got home I checked that tree furst thing! Mama asked me to please kill the squirrel before I ever bring him inside, unlike that bird that one time....

Merry Christmas!!!!

Merry Christmas everybody! This is my furst Christmas with my new family, AND it just so happens to be sister Joey's fourth birthday! Because of that everyone is super happy and joyful!

Joey is the big cheese now! She's, like, middle aged!

I've been having a lot of fun sniffing out boxes, things in the yard, and playing with toys!

We went on a walk today and I was SO HAPPY the drive there was short! I had on my red fleece jacket and I was kinda scared this ride in the car would be another 21 hours! Oooooh noooooo!!!

Whew! It wasn't! We smelled things like wetlands and birdies, muskrats and other rodent wild-like things! We saw ducks too! Ducks in water! It was amazing!

Now we're rested and it's TIME TO PLAY! I love holidays with my new family! We get to spend family time together and do fun fun stuff!

I sure hope everyone else is as happy and warm as I am this Christmas!

A Long Journey

We went on the LONGEST car ride EVER! EVER EVER EVER!! It was real comfy, we dogs had a lotta room in the back with lots of dog beds, but I was kinda scared of all those BIG trucks! I kept my head buried the whole time, up next to Mama and Daddy in the front!

ALSO, did you know my hair is for LOOKS ONLY? It is NOT warm AT ALL!! Luckily I had a jacket and a blanket, boy did that help!!

Keeping calm

Am I the only calm dog here? Oh yeah, I forgot, I am! BOL!

Joey is a Nervous Nellie and keeping both eyes on both pawrents! Frankie is a little stressed out and super-playful.

Luckily runs with the bikes help these two with stress! It makes such a big difference!!

Me? I'm doin' a lotta sleepin' now! I wonder what's going on, but my Mama holds me a lot and that makes me feel better. I get to sleep with Mama and Daddy in the comfy dog beds, so that makes me happy too.

Mama says tomorrow is the big journey, over the hills and through the woods to Colorado we go! One more night here, then a whole new house just for us doggies!

Now that DOES sound fun...

Maybe a teeny bit sad, for a minute

I might be a TEENY bit sad. I'm leaving my home of Southern California! It's where I come from! I'm going to be a traveler, a nomad?? No, no, Mama says no... something like a flower? A transplant!! That's what I'll be!

I'm a teeny bit sad to be leaving the people who selflessly saved my life! They sure loved me a lot! I got to go say goodbye to them today.

Bittersweet!

I AM looking forward to some fun stuff though... like, it's gonna be MUCH COLDER there, and we're gonna have to spend a LOT of time snuggling under blankets by the fire keeping warm!! Sounds super-fun!!!! I'm in!!!

Sit in, commence!

We've started the sit in!

Things are confusing here!

I am so worn out, there's so much going on, I tried putting myself to bed early last night.

There. Was. No. Bed. It was GONE!! What to do?

I found Mom and Dad's blankets and laid on those, but it was in the living room so I hardly got any peace and quiet! Sheesh!

I couldn't WAIT for them to go to bed!

THEN, are you ready for this?, they STOLE our dog beds! Mom and dad! Luckily I still got to sleep with them, sOo i WAS IN THE BED TOO! Whew! That really helped my nerves and I slept well after that!

Sit in, commence!!

But what if Mama and Daddy go somewhere? More importantly, what if Frank and Joey go somewhere? I wanna go! What does that mean for my sit in?

I better nap and think about it...
