Arrival Story:
I had decided to volunteer with Westie Rescue of Florida and I started out just doing application interviews, surrender reviews and reference checks. They needed room for older girls coming in from different places. One was 11 and Cordi was 8. We almost ended up keeping the 11 yr old, "Munchkin", but surprisingly a lovely senior lady wanted to adopt her. She is now happily being treated like a princess in her new home. My westie, Riley, and Cordi bonded unexpectedly, so, here we are...one big happy family.

Bio:
She was turned into the rescue because she supposedly liked to bite the previous owner's child. This is their 3rd child and they've had Cordi for 8 yrs. I guess that's the thanks you get for being a loyal family pet. They dumped her instead of bothering to see why things were going wrong. I've done everything with her, from hugs and kisses, to getting right into her face and pulling her tail and nothing bothered her. So, she's safe now and has her permanent retirement home right here with us. I think Cody would be proud.

Forums Motto:
I got a new lease on life! Opt to adopt

ADOPT 2011 CONTEST

[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ]

You know, I never thought I'd find myself in a contest like this. I would never in a million years have believed that my beloved family would ever get rid of me like they did. They said I bit the youngest child. Let me tell you, I was with them my whole life and they had 3 kids. I never had any problem before. Do you think they would give me the benefit of a doubt and try to find out if the kid did something he shouldn't? I'm 9 now and my legs aren't what they used to be. Did they bother to find out if the boy even accidentally hurt me? No, they just dumped me. Hmmfff...how's that for loyalty? It's ok though because I didn't have to get jumbled around like some others do. My owner delivered me to a lady who brought me where I am now...my home, my furever home. My new mom has given me her word and I can feel it in her heart that she will never make me leave this family for any reason. It's a little slower here, but that's ok too. There are no kids around so it's not nearly as hectic. My mom thinks that's really why they gave me away. They just didn't have time for me anymore. Isn't that awful? I have had lots of reasons to bite my mom since being here, like when I was stung by a wasp on the pad of my foot and she was touching it to try and find out what happened. We didn't know at first. Boy, did that ever hurt!!!! I never even tried to bite her even through all that pain. That's why mom thinks they just didn't have time for me anymore. I'm ok now though. My new family loves me and give me everything I need, and I love them totally, even my little brofur Riley. I'll tell you, sometimes life will throw you a curve ball, but all that matters when that happens is that you catch that ball and land on your feet.
