Arrival Story:
After years of debate, we finally decided we were ready to have a dog. Then, after researching different breeds we settled on the Welsh Terrier. The personality and needs seemed to be a good fit. We visited the breeder twice before making our final decision, and both times we visited this one puppy kept coming over to us. He sat in my lap. He sat under Ian's legs. He calmly watched his siblings and cousins romping and yelping and looked as us like "Kids... what can ya do?" We were hooked.

The Totally True Adventures of Cardiff the Magnificent

I have a brother?!

Saturday I went to Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. I didn't know why. There was a parade. That was ok, even though I saw a lot of feet and not much else.

After the parade the people took me to a restaurant where we sat outside. That's not unusual. What WAS unusual was that there were all these dogs there. All these dogs that looked ALIKE.

People kept telling me that Bosco was my brother -- that we had the same parents. But his people don't look or smell anything like my people. Besides, I'd have noticed if there was another dog around here. So how was he my brother? And why did he look like all the other dogs we were hanging around with?

I totally don't understand what happened on Saturday, but there are a lot of pictures.

I am bad about updating. I have a twitter that I'm bad about updating too.

My birthday was yesterday. I am four now. Someone told me that birthdays mean cake and I got excited, until I realized I have no idea what cake is. So I asked, and it doesn't sound good.

I did get turkey for dinner though! It came from a little jar and it was mostly just glop but IT WAS SO GOOD. I love turkey. I love it when the cats eat it. I almost never have turkey because the food the people buy doesn't have it (there's rabbit and duck and venison, but no turkey!).

The people don't eat meat so when all my friends at daycare told me about thanksgiving and how much turkey there is I was sad. So turkey for my birthday was great!

We've started going to a new dog park. It's really fantastic. Lots of trees and hills and leaves and new dogs and new smells. It takes forever to get there but I really like it. The people say that "if the weather is nice" (meaning "not raining") we might go this weekend. But they don't get that rain and mud and wet is ALSO "nice" because it makes all the smells different. Rain brings back smells that have been gone for days and days and days.

I am really tired of snow

It was fun at first because it's cold and crunchy and makes everything smell weird, but now it's just wet and dirty and smells like cars and chemicals and I keep sliding. And then every time I go in the house I have to get dried off and get my paws clean. Boo.

It also means my walks are shorter and I don't get to go to the park to play with my friends as much. I get bored.
