Arrival Story: When I was little, my mom had always promised me a dog when we had our own house and were aloud to have one. A friend that my mom worked with had a Golden Retriever that had puppies. She would have free run around the fields because they lived in the middle of nowhere. She had all black puppies. For years we thought Max was a mix with a Black Labrador but the owner of his mommy only knew of a Doberman, Beagle, and Chihuahua that lived nearby. We recently found out his daddy was a Doberman.
Bio: Max was diagnosed with bone cancer in November 2009. He is still with us and doing wonderful after going through a few rounds of Chemotherapy.
A few weeks ago Max was starting to lose control of his back legs and had a hard time walking. The vet recommended him to go to a chiropractor. My mom took him for a treatment and he was 10x better for 3 weeks or so. He was put on Prednisone (steroid) and that helped also. About a week ago he started to get worse again. Friday night he snuck his way upstairs (young siblings left the gate open). He put too much pressure on the leg he had surgery on with the chemo. He could only put pressure on 1 leg so he couldn't move at all. My family took him to the vet the next morning and we had found out the cancer came back in his spine, which had caused his legs to give out. He had to leave us that day. =( But now he isn't in anymore pain.
