From The Bridge

It's Been A Year

Hi Dogsters!
It's been a year since Mama, Papa and Dr. Schmidt helped me pass over into the beautiful world that is Rainbow Bridge. It doesn't seem that long ago, and I know it doesn't seem that long to Mama and Papa either. Last August I was old, and in so much pain that I could hardly stand or walk, but it's hard to believe it now.

When I got here, Annie, Liebchen, Joshua, Casey, Sadie and dogs I had never met on earth were waiting to welcome me. I was so happy to see them (especially my Annie) that, at first, I didn't even notice how young and healthy I felt. Then, when I realized that I was running and jumping like a puppy for the joy of seeing them, I was amazed.

So many things have happened on earth since I've been gone. Grandma stopped here to pick up Liebchen and bring her to Heaven with her. I miss Lieby very much, but Annie tells me we will see her again. And since Annie knows everything, it must be true. Also, Mama and Papa adopted a girl dog who needed a forever home. It made us all happy, and we love Sandy already.

I want all my Dogster pals to know how wonderful it is here and how happy we are. There are all-you-can eat cookies and tons of Frisbees! Whatever toy we enjoyed on earth is stocked in an unlimited supply. We are all young and healthy again, and there are new friends to make every day! So I send this anniversary message to all Dogsters -- human and canine. Don't worry about us, or feel guilty that you couldn't keep us on earth forever. This is the way it's supposed to be. We are always with you, and though you can't see us, we can see you. We will be together again, and -- oh -- what a wonderful time we'll have.

Love always,
Jesse
