Arrival Story:
Danger and I fell in love when I started volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society. He was passed over time after time by visitors for being too big, too hairy, too black, too shy, for being epileptic, for not being housebroken.... At the time I was looking for a non-black, older, large, female dog. I ended up with one out of four! Danger turned out be a quick learner with good manners, a sweet personality, and totally housebroken. He got a forever home and I got a live-in best friend, snugglebear, and mobile food disposal unit.

Bio:
Danger spends his days napping and helping me foster needy animals from OHS. Neither of us are sure what breed he really us but he does bear a remarkable resemblance to the Flat Coat Retriever, albeit a bit overlarge at 96 pounds. Plus, he can't swim, although he enjoys running into the surf when we go out to the coast or a lake, but he won't go in over his head, not even for cookies or a Cuz. But whatever breed he is, he's the best dog I've ever known. Danger wants to remind all you pet parents out there to do what you can to combat pet overpopulation, whether it be to spay and neuter your own companion animals, volunteer at a shelter, pound, or rescue, or help inform other pet owners of the horrors of overpopulation and the benefits of spay/neuters.

Danger,
Thank you.

It's true that I saved you, but you also saved me. You give me a reason to keep getting up in the morning. When times are tough and the hills are steep, you don't mind if I grab your collar for a little help. You are the greatest dog in the entire world and I can't believe how lucky I am to have your companionship and love. My heart would feel lonely without your paws wrapped around it.

Love,
Mom
