Arrival Story:
She was a breeding female in a puppy mill. She lived in a wire cage her whole life until she came to me at 3 years old. She had been dumped at a kill shelter in MO and was about to be put down when a volunteer offered to foster her and got her over the border to safety.
Mara has had to learn how to be paper trained, walk on a leash, everything you would teach a puppy. Except she is an adult, about 20 pounds.
If she looks unusual, she is! She is a chocolate merle particolored cocker spaniel, with blue eyes, about as rare a cocker spaniel as you will find. She has silver-tipped fur and is very cuddly. Everyone who met her said, "If you are just fostering and really don't want to keep her, I'll take her!" A new home with fewer stairs later, we are one big happy family.
