Basking in the sun, chasing after flys that get in the house, eating
When you don't let her outside for sunning
What isn't her favorite food
Any place she gets to run like a chicken with her head cut off
Beg and shake
I was about to enter high school and I wanted another dog really bad. I did all kinds of projects around he house to earn money and to convince them I was ready for another dog. I wasn't sure the dog I wanted I was originally I was thinking border collie or golden retriever. Upon hearing that border collies can be high strung and have what seems like unlimited energy from several people I decided against getting one. I searched Petfinder for local shelters and rescues. There was a litter that had been born to a rescued yellow lab. I just knew I had to have Madison. We went to visit and were greeted by half a dozen adorable puppies. We choose Madison because she was uniquely colored then her yellow lab littermates. She had to stay at the rescue another few weeks because we were about to go on vacation and after that I had summer camp. Longest few weeks of my life but we eventually brought her home. She was adorable but had fleas because the shelter was outdoor and had limited funds and hadnt had enough to buy frontline yet. She got all cleaned up and the rest is history.
Madison is such a joy, she loves basking in the sun. What we didn't expect is that she would be, how to I put this... a little on the slower side. It took her forever to learn her name, to be housebroken, to learn basic commands. She was a tough puppy, bones and chew toys were not as fun as the window seals that she enjoys napping by. She could chew and look out the window at the same time! Now 6 years later she is so full of life and a happy go lucky dog. She loves adventure and going new places. When hiking off leash me and Ginger walk together and Madison runs ahead then stops and waits for us then runs ahead some more. Shes the cooky nut who will sure to put a smile on your face. She enjoys meeting new people and new dogs but she doesn't stay interested in them for long before something else catches her attention. We joke that Madison has ADD but if there is such a thing in dogs she for sure has it. She loves water but doesn't like to swim. She just goes in to the point where it touches her belly than stops and will most certainly find water to cool off when its hot even if its more mud than water.
Don't disturb me I'm on fly patrol!
