Arrival Story:
Trojan was given to a blind woman as a very young pup, she originally named him Oso (which means bear in spanish). Unfortunately, the family the blind woman was living with did not like Trojan and they would physically harm him and throw him out into the front yard hoping Trojan would go away. This happened on a daily basis. The woman always managed to find Trojan and bring him back inside the home. One day, my dads friend saw Trojan out in the front yard and felt bad for him. My dads friend knew our family was looking for a dog, so he picked up Trojan and brought him over to our house. At first, Trojan would not let us touch him. He had already lost his trust in man by the way the previous family treated him. But after a little bit of carne asada, garden gloves, (we had to hold him with garden gloves at first because he didn't trust anyone touching him and he would try and bite us) and tons of love, Trojan opened his little puppy heart and learned to trust us. A couple of days later, the blind woman called my dad asking to return Trojan. My dad was about to give Trojan back to her but before he could call her back, she called him back and said, "I think you should keep the dog. It seems like he's receiving alot of love where he's at now and I can't take care of him." Our family was so happy!!! Today, Trojan is a happy dog :) Everyday, Trojan is given hugs and kisses. We tell him everyday and multiple times a day that we love him. We can leave the gates open and Trojan will never run away, he knows he has it good with us. Everyday he does something to make us laugh. He puts a smile on all our faces and has brought much joy into our home.

Trojan is very affectionate with his family whom he considers his pack. He could care less about the affection of anyone outside his pack (which according to animal experts is a common trait in the chow breed). Trojan is a calm dog but does not like too much noise. He is also a great protector. He loves other dogs. However, Trojan is an attention hogger and gets jealous when we pay attention to the turtle or other pets. He's a good dog :D
