Penny was tested positive for Heartworm and will be on hold until her treatment is completed.
"My name is Penny. I am a 5 year old, pure-bred, red and white Bassett Hound. I am friendly and fun-loving. I love being outside and playing with other dogs (and cats too!). I am house-broken, I love riding in cars, and I don't mind staying in a cage when my owner is away. Walking with me is a treat because I don't mind being on a leash. Kids don't bother me, they are just someone else that I can play with! I love attention, and play time never seems to end when I am around. I like to have my belly rubbed and don't mind laying in your lap during the rubbing! I get so excited to meet new people, sometimes I jump up a little. I also have a nose for everything, so if you leave food on the counter, I will find a way to get to it. I need a little training when it comes to commands; I haven't really had any type of obedience schooling, but I am willing to learn!! Looking for a very loving home with room to play!"
Bio:
Penny has already finished her treatment for heart worm, she is currently in a calm foster home recovering from the ordeal. She is house trained, spayed, and UTD on shots. Her adoption fee is $200 which would normally cover most or all expenses while in the care of NileyDog Rescue; however, Penny's heart worm treatment alone cost over $350! So needless to say her adoption fee doesn't quite cover all the money that has been spent on this wonderful girl!
