Arrival Story:
We've been wanting a little sister for the boys for quite a while, and my sister stopped at a puppy shoppe (yes, we deplore them as they deal with puppy mills!) and saw Misty. It was love at 1st sight, so she's now Shadow & Peasy's little sister...and a complete mystery, thus her nickname, Mystery.

Y'know, Auntie El says it's been over a year since I wrote in my diary, so I guess it's time I did.

Spent most of the summer at Grandma's playing with Angel (she used to be Crystal Blue Eyes), til September 13th when me n Auntie El got into her car for the trip back home. We rode on fine until we got to where we'd always stop, when Auntie El had to grab my carrier and slam on the brake. It scared me, but she said it was ok, there was just this mean old truck cutting in front of her. OK. She did what she had to do and tried to take me walkies, but I didn't wanna go...I was still a bit freaked out. So we get back on the road, and all of a sudden, she's doing it again! This time, she splains to me that some 'idiot car driver' was trying to pull out in front of us. A little bit down the road, she stops, I think more because she wanted to calm down, but I wanted to go walkies by this point. So we went walkies, and I sniffed out this real big, but friendly bitch who was real nice to me, and her human lady was talking with Auntie El. We finally get back into the car, I'm back in my crate, and we go on. Next thing I know, we're spinning around, and the car goes upside down. Good thing my carrier had reinforced sides and the door was open or I coulda been hurted real bad! I found myself sitting on the ceiling of the car, next to Auntie El's head...she was hanging upside down by that strap she had put around her. She was calling for me, so I went over to her, and got petted by her, so she knew I was ok and I knew she was ok. I was still terrified, and as soon as I heard someone outside the car (who opened the door), I ran right to him. He was a nice man who smelled like he had puppies of his own (Auntie El's note: One of my good Samaritans, who rescued dogs, and was willing to go from the PA/NJ border, where we were, the 65 miles to Hackensack to make sure Misty was reunited with Chrissy...bless that man!) There was another bunch of people there, one lady on Auntie El's phone with Mummy, and some men and women trying to get Auntie El out of her car. Finally this man takes me in his car and drives me to Mummy. Needless to say, I was beyond terrified by all of this, but as soon as I saw Mummy, I felt a little better. She took me home, and held me and talked to me for a little while, then let Shadow and PJ take care of me and she went to the people hospital to be with Auntie El. When she came home (it was almost daybreak!), her arm was all bandaged up, the top she was wearing was all full of blood, and she smelled funny. Mummy splained it was because of the people hospital and the medicines they gave Auntie El. The next day, Mummy and Auntie El took me in Mummy's car (I didn't wanna go! Wonder why? BOL) and we went to where they moved Auntie El's car to. I didn't even recognise it as a car! There was a man there who asked Auntie El how she was alive. Well, what about me?!!? Then they mentioned me. Thank you! They talked to the man how lucky I was, and how nice the man was who took me to Mummy. He was nice...I liked his smell :=)

2 weeks later, Auntie El hadda take me to my doctor. She told Dr Mia about the accident and how scared I still am, and Dr Mia was extra careful in how she talked to me and carried me n stuff. I like her...she's pretty, she smells nice, and she knows how to treat a scared little puppy.

Now Auntie El has a new car, but I don't know if I wanna go in it. I know Peasy does, but he doesn't care about much of anything. BOL

Mummy's talking about going to Grandma's in a month for Thanksgîving. It'll be fun to be with Angel again. She's fun to play with, even tho she can't hear :=)

Day 4 in My New Home

Hi I'm Misty, new to Dogster (and the world), but my brothers Shadow & PJ aren't. They've been around for a loooong time! I'm 2 months old, and this is my 4th day with Mummy & Auntie El. I came from Missouri (Auntie El says most likely from a puppy mill, whatever that is) and was only a couple days at this place called Best In Breed Kennels in New Jersey when Mummy came in looking for a little girl Yorkie. Only bad thing was she didn't want my brother, only me (something about PJ not liking boys...I dunno...he's snapped at me a couple times. Guess I'm too much for him) My neighbour in the kennel was a little deaf girl with a long body and long hair. Auntie El said she wanted her, too, and her name is Crystal. We get along real good together, except when Crystal bites a little too hard when we play. I don't think she realises that she's a little biggern me and she can't hear me when I yelp, so Mummy or Auntie El have to break it up sometimes. We're just playin, tho.
Mummy says Grandma may want to take me and raise me with Uncle Pepper (so I may end up being my own aunt!), but 1st I have to go see Dr Mia tonight and get another clean bill of health. The vet at BiB said I was clear to go, but Mummy wants her own doctor to see me. Something about maybe more shots or something? I hope not.
Me n Crystal are watching Yogi Bear cartoons right now...Crystal can't hear em, but I think the voices are funny.
Time for a nap!
Misty
