Likes: Knowing that my foster mom loves me

Pet-Peeves: Chloe is the sweetest soul, I can't think of anything she dislikes

Favorite Toy: funny shaped stuffed toy from the dollar tree, her foster brother - Andy

Favorite Food: Chicken Breast w/Rice & Veggies, fried eggs on w/e morn., anything that Katie is eating

Favorite Walk: New Brighton Beach, Jeffrey Fontana Park, Los Gatos Trail, any mountain hike

Best Tricks: Sit very patiently & happily for a treat. Chloe seems very pleased with her self as if to say, "I'm doing great huh mom!"

Arrival Story: It was a Wednesday night in November and raining & cold. Don't know what possessed me to stop at the local shelter that I pass every day traveling to and from work. There she was, so tiny and curled up in a ball trying to stay warm. I didn't see her face or long legs but I felt sorry for her so since it was pouring and cold out. Couldn't bear to call her to me because she was snuggled up so tight. She had been at the shelter already for a month and a half. I foster for an animal rescue and couldn't imagine why she would be at the shelter for so long without being given up to a rescue. I was told that she seemed very adoptable so the shelter had decided to spay and chip her so that she was prepared to be adopted out immediately. I hoped she would not be there the next evening even though she'd already been there too long. It's just that I knew that I couldn't bear to let her stay there any longer and was hoping that someone would suddenly adopt her. Next evening, there she was still and curled up in a ball again. I still didn't want to wake her as it was cold, rainy and dark. I asked a coworker and friend to come with me to the shelter (it's only a 5-10 minute ride from work) to see her the very next day. She was so happy to make our acquaintance so I made an appointment to visit her that very evening. The volunteer told me that she had been given up because "she wouldn't stop peeing in the house". I told the counselor that maybe I should take my dogs in to meet her because I really wasn't so sure what to do for her. The counselor told me that she was ready to go and, if I didn't take her that Friday night, I wouldn't be able to make an appointment to see her until Monday. I live about a 45 minute drive from my old work location as well as the Humane Society so it just wasn't possible to go home, pick up my dogs and be back before six on a weekday. Chloe was shaking uncontrollably when the volunteer brought her out. The counselor told me that three people had looked at her but declined to adopt because of the shaking. Since I had experience with new dogs in my house, the counselor told me that she was comfortable having me take her directly home. She's so sweet, I couldn't leave her at the shelter another day.

Bio: My vet thinks that I'm a Yorkie/Poodle/Chihuahua mix. My hair has gotten longer every day but it looks better trimmed shorter since it's so thin. I heard the counselor at the shelter tell my foster mom that she thought that the previous owners had cut my hair and maybe it was longer and that turned out to be the case. Poor little Chloe has had a bad life and still rolls over and pees on herself but only when I bend down to pick her up and put her in my car. I've found that if I put her harness on first, she is okay. Something about that motion reminds her of something that she just can't bear to deal with. It took me over a year to get her potty trained. She rarely goes potty in front of me in the backyard but is willing to go potty on her walks. Chloe weighed 9 lbs. when adopted but now weighs 12 lbs. She runs faster than any of the 30 foster dogs that I've had so far. She loves to run.

Forums Motto: PLEASE LOVE ME AND NEVER LEAVE ME!

Yip, Yip, Yipee! I'm so happy to be dog of the day! My ex-foster mom wrote to my new forever mom and let her know that I was a star today.
Someday, Lisa hopes to transfer my dog page to her but she so enjoys the memories though. We like to visit each other about once a month and go for a nice, long walk with our two families.

My foster mom comes to see us every month or so, no later than every 2 mos. I am VERY happy in my new home. My new mom retired early and adores me. We go on several walks a day and like me new mom so much. We visit and go for a walk with our two new families. Life is good.

Yesterday, we all went to visit my new mommy in Watsonville. Afterward, we all went to New Brighton Beach together. When no one was around, I got to play off leash. I ran around and around very fast. It was so fun and I really miss going to the beach. My foster mom took all of my stuff with me including my daily food. She hopes that I'm very happy with her new mommy. My presence is missed, my foster mom keeps getting the feeling that something is missing or thinking that she has to get me ready to go and I'm not living in San Jose anymore.
