Arrival Story:
Hannah was one of several surrendered to the shelter, Basset Hounds in October of 2004. None of which were in the best condition, but Hannah was the worst of all. She was a 9 month old with every rib in her body showing. A collar had been left on her too long, and had grown into the skin on her neck. She had fleas, body mites, ear mites, and 3 kinds of worms. She was also ill with Parvo, and cost us a small fortune, hence one of her nicknames, gold plated baby. She has recovered exceptionally well. We are happy to say, that all the other Bassets have been adopted and now have good homes too, and we ran into Hannah's mother at the vet a while back. She seems to be happy and adapting quite well with us and her new brother Rodney, who is an almost Basset. She is still learning to leave her new big sister Keisha, a chow alone. Keisha is elderly and thinks these little ones are quite a big pain, although think she does watch over them, because she will let me know if one of them is by the door to go outside and I dont hear them. Mostly it is Rodney I dont hear, since he is my silent one. He can yowl quite nicely, but rarely wastes his energy. Hannah on the other hand is very vocal. :-)

Bio:
Hannah passed away on Feb , 2009 from a ruptured gall bladder. We are devastated. She was just 5 yrs old.
