Arrival Story:
I wanted a pug named Raisin for years. When I went to the breeder to see him, I was actually going to see a different dog, but I started carrying him around and fell in love. I guess you could say it was love at first sight.

Raisin was very sick with a livershunt, which he had all his life. On July 22, 2004 he had an extensive and lifesaving surgery that has given him a new lease on life. He was in ICU for 3 days, in an oxygen tent, had surgery on his liver, bladder, and throat...had stamples down his entire tummy, but he pulled through. He is now expected to live a full life expectancy and I am more thankful than words can say. Every single day with him alive and healthy is a gift. He weighed 17lbs when he went in for surgery, and now he's 30 pounds (thus the nickname Bubba)...the boy needs to go on a diet!

I'm on a diet

Today is 1/04/06 and my Mommy put me on a diet yesterday. I've gained a lot of weight since my surgery and she thinks I am chubby. It's true-I don't like to walk up and down the stairs and my tummy is closer to the floor these days-but ugh. No fun. I am going to miss pancakes.

On a bright note, Santa brought me my very own blanket just like the one Mom and Dad has-the one that is my favorite. I love it.

Happy New Year!

Spring has Sprung!

It’s been a while since I have written in my diary, so I thought I would take a break from chewing on my greenies and write an entry today.

Spring has arrived in the Pacific Northwest and I am enjoying it wholeheartedly. I love to be outside, love to go on walks, love to lay in the sun on the deck, love to run in the grass, love to sit by the back door and look outside. Dad pulled out the big swing, so at night, we all go sit and swing underneath the stars. They let me curl up close to them under a blanket and I love it.

I had an ear infection about three weeks ago and Mom and Dad had to take me to the doctor. She hadn’t seen me since my liver surgery and was amazed at how much weight I had gained. She said I looked good but that I could handle loosing a couple of pounds. She said that I needed a waist. I’m not so sure, are pugs supposed to have waists?

My entire family went out of town last week for 3 nights. They hired someone to come in and take care of us canines, which was fine, but I sure missed my parents. They came home on Sunday and brought me a toy, Sully from Monsters Inc, and I love it. More than the toy, I loved seeing them. I was so excited that I couldn’t stop my curly little tail from wagging.

Mommy told me yesterday that I get to go on the next trip with them, to the beach, in April. I love car rides and I love the beach. I can’t wait.

Mommy went into work really early this morning. She said she would be home early because I had to go back to the doctor today to have my ears rechecked and to have my shots. I hate getting shots. I’d rather Mom went to work at normal time and just forgot the whole shot thing. I’m starting to get nervous because I think she will be here to pick me up soon.

Pug Hugs to everyone.

Mom and Dad took me to Puggietine this weekend. There were lots of pugs there to play with. I wore my Charlie Brown sweater. I usually play for a little bit and then curl up on my Mom’s lap to watch Molly and the other pugs play. This time I felt a little more outgoing and played longer. It was very fun.

Yesterday, my Mom invited two of our puggy friends over to help celebrate Molly’s birthday. Molly’s birthday is really today, but she said it would be best to celebrate on the weekend. Mom made a puppy cake special, just for us. It was yummy! Molly got some presents too, which made me a little bit jealous. She got a big bag of greenies, I really hope she shares them with me. I love greenies!

Today is Valentines Day and Mom said that I am her special Valentine.
