Arrival Story: Bracco was found wandering alone in a hotel parking lot down in Knoxville, TN, when he was about 8 weeks old. He was being fostered by Grreat Dog Rescue when my husband and I found him on petfinder.com. The moment we saw his picture and read his bio, we were hooked--and it didn't matter that we'd have to drive 10 hours to get him; we just had to have him.
When our application was approved for Bracco, it just so happened that his foster mom had a trip planned to Virginia to visit family. So, she brought Bracco with her, which meant we only had to drive 3-1/2 hours to pick him up instead of 10. It all worked out perfectly!

Bio: Bracco came to us with the name Grumbles (he grumbles when he's trying to get your attention). And while it is a cute name for a puppy, we didn't think it would be as suitable when he became a full-grown, 70 lb. dog. So, we changed his name to Bracco, which means "hound" in Italian (and contrary to what a few people have thought, Bracco was not named after the actress Lorraine Bracco, who plays Tony Soprano's psychiatrist on "The Sopranos").
