So we went for a drive to see this breeder in Ormeau. When we got there I saw this apricot male who keeps wandering around. He was so independent that he's got his own spot away from the pack with a fewof his "belongings". I went closer and waited for him to sniff me which he did but in 2 seconds he brushed me off and went to investigate more "interesting" things. Next we watched as they get fed raw chicken. He took a huge meaty chuck, sat and ate comfortably while there's a riot going on. Then he stood up took a more meaty chicken from his brother and sat again. No one messed with this dog. Aha! this is the one I want. The alpha puppy.
So the week after, we were driving home with this very independent Bullmastiff puppy. Straight away we clicked. He took my leadership so naturally that I bonded with him in a matter of hours. He is unbelievably smart and undeniably stubborn! He learned the basic commands even before he went to puppy pre-school. And he's got the most perfect heel work I've ever seen in a pup.
Lucy, our Maltese mix, took on the mother role immediately. I would watch her groom him like he's her own puppy. Showing him where to do potty and all that. Telling him the rules. We never really had any potty training with him at all. After a few days he could stay with us and know that there'll be no accidents. It's like everything all went in place.
He's growing steadily with good muscle tone which I'm proud of. I know he will someday make Angel Mateo proud. Forums Motto: All I ever wanted is a steak house The Groups I'm In: Bodacious Bullmastiffs, Cowster The Last Forum I Posted In: socilization help I've Been On Dogster Since:
