Searching for a Sister

My momma and daddy are searching for a companion for me. They are looking to buy ($350 or less) or, preferably, adopt, a female dog. I'm not sure why, but they have very specific criteria--they want a female dog, purebred, medium or large in size (when fully grown) one year old or younger. The dog has to like other dogs, and like or at least be okay around cats (as in, not chasing and barking at them all the time, and definitely not overly agressive toward them--playful is okay). The closer the dog is to Lynchburg, VA (which is located two hours east of Richmond; three and a half hours southwest of Washington D.C.; two hours north of Greensboro, NC), the better. They are looking to pick the dog up no sooner than the end of April and no later than the end of August. They most like purebreds who don't have a lot of health problems, although for a great Golden Retriever or German Shepherd, they might forget about that. My momma does not want another Husky--I think I'm enough of a handful for her! She likes Irish Setters and English Springer Spaniels best, but she's open to other breeds. P.S. We live in a great 3 bedroom, 2 bath one and a half story house with almost an acre of land. It's a fairly quiet area and there is a lake across the street!
