Arrival Story:
@@@ADOPT 2010 CONTEST@@@ After my darling Little Foot went to the Rainbow Bridge last year it took me awhile before I wanted to think about getting another furkid. But finally towards the end of the year I started looking. I knew what I really wanted was a Pom, but unless I wanted buy a puppy, it was going to be really hard to find one. So I started checking the local animal shelter websites and rescues, but didn't really have much luck. Several of my wonderful friends from Dogster were hard at work trying to help me also. The problem with checking shelter websites is that usually small dogs (especially Poms) never make it to the website, because they are snatched up within hours of coming to the shelter. So finally after several months of no luck, I was in the area of our local animal shelter and I decided to stop in and see if they had any small dogs. I had my heart set on a Pom, but really just wanted to rescue any small dog. So I went inside and looked and there were 2 Poms that had only been brought in about an hour before. I almost ran to the desk to see if they were available. Much to my dismay, one had been adopted already and the other one (Tobi) was on hold. The staff told me he was only on hold for ten more minutes! So I said, "I'll wait and see if the people come back for him!" Well, needless to say, they never came back! Yippee! So I got to go in the meeting area with Tobi, and he was a doll! And the rest if history! I was able to pick him up a couple of days later after he had been neutered and had his teeth cleaned. It must have been meant to be, and I was in the right place at the right time! Lucky me!
