Walks, treats, torturing his little girlfriend, Gracie...
Gracie not letting him on the sofa or on the bed
"Fox tail"--a tennis ball with a furry "fox" tail attached that squeaks
Raw meat and greenies
So far, around the block is pretty great.
Coming when called--amazing!!
Rags belonged to an older guardian for 10 years, until the guardian moved into a nursing home and could no longer keep him. A cold animal shelter in January is no place for a senior doggie, so when I came across his picture on the internet, posted by a volunteer at the shelter, I melted. That week I got in my car and drove 3 hours to adopt him. I was worried that he would be old and crotchety, and might not get along with Gracie, my 2 year old schnauzer, but after a few days of sizing each other up they are now the best of friends. Rags is a wonderful companion, and he is so sweet--I hope that his former guardian knows that he's now happy and safe.
***UPDATE 8/29/08--Rags has had a rough month, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his front leg and having a hard time getting around as a result..... For the last week, we have tried to keep him comfortable with phentenyl patches for pain, but it stopped helping. This morning Rags went to the Bridge, and we are all sad here at home. Gracie has looked for him all day, and has now started moping a bit.....it's as if she has started to realize that Rags isn't coming back. We loved having Rags for 3 years, and hope that his golden years with us were good ones!
