Birthday: July 1st 2007 Likes: Being with mom everywhere I go Pet-Peeves: Other people whom mom gives more attention to at the time Favorite Toy: I love to swim! Favorite Food: Neutro Favorite Walk: Our "secret" spot Best Tricks: Taking care of my mommy. I like to help her when she has panic attacks. Arrival Story: I was a Parvo puppy a Vet Tech saved. Mom purchased me from her on August 11th, 2007. She liked me because I was a very laid back puppy and she needed a dog to help her deal with past situations. I provided emotional support immediately.
We went everywhere together that a pet is allowed. She made me get out and used to noises. Mom used to spin fire. Their was a drum group that played music while the group danced with fire. That got me over my fear of drums and of fire. Mom also walked me a lot and let me go into stores that would allow me to enter. Mama Brandi and mommy even took my brother and I on trips with them. Mom's original idea was to make me a Therapy Dog. That was not a job for me!
I progressed into a SDIT when mom found out that I could do that. Her doctor thought that it would be a very good idea. Mom suffers from PTSD and Panic disorders. Mom has also had a TBI. It was getting really hard for mom to go to school and work. I have been able to do these things with her and much more. Mom can even shop at night now! My other mommy says that I have changed mom's life in an amazing way! Bio: I do have my own website if you are interested in learning more about mom's story or my own. It can be found at http://sdteddy.webs.com Forums Motto: Dogs are miracles with paws The Groups I'm In: ♥ Paws with a Purpose ♥, FANCYPANTS CAFE, PSD Service Dog, Psychiatric Service Dogs, Service Dogs Group, task training for Service and Therapy Dogs I've Been On Dogster Since:
Today we had family and friends over. Mama Brandi had a big BBQ for us all. I got hamburgers! Yummy!
A little kid was at the BBQ and kept screaming. Her name is "little Sarah" (my mommy's best friends little girl). She has some lungs! Sarah kept upsetting mommy so "Aunt" Kimmy had to bring her home for some sleep. She is a year old.
Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Josh watched 2 movies with my mommies, Loki and I. We watched one movie called Hachiko. Mommy cried. She only cries while watching doggie movies.
I went outside for a bath but before I did mom had to move a plant shelf in from outside. It fell on her foot! She is so bruised!Everyone said it was broken but she said I needed my bath before she would attend to it (stuborn mommy!). Luckily it was just sprained. Mom discovered I had an ouchie too when I got my bath. I have allergies and scratched up my face really bad under my fur. Mom had to get the blood off of my face. She was gentle about it but it hurt still. Mommy put medicine on it and gave me allergy medicine. She says that this is perfect timing for going back to school tomorrow (sarcastically). At least I am clean.
This has been a long and tiring day! Good night all of my doggie friends.
Today mom set a new goal for herself but it will help me out a lot too. She wants to lose 70 pounds by November 2011. She contacted her friend and her friend is going to let us know what is good to eat and not so good to eat and she is going to help us make a fitness plan as well. So, hopefully, I will get some walks in when mom's leg and back are up to it. When not walking with mom at least I will be able to lay near a pool and relax this summer.
