People often mistake his name for "Darby"

Being the center of attention, meeting new people, car rides, sleepovers at his daddy's house, happily teetering on his hind legs for affection, his best friend Bichon, cuddles, visitors, sunbathing, playing & belly rubs.

Fireworks, the fire alarm, confusing noises of an unknown nature, other dogs on his turf, regected opportunities to play, visits from his overly-energenic pup cousin - Kinsey.

Favorite Toy:
His beloved tattered tennis ball & large red light up ball.

Favorite Food:
People food, espcially of the meat variety.

Favorite Walk:
Every walk! But, espcially one ending in a visit to his nearby Grammy's house.

Best Tricks:
Charming everyone in sight & dancing in sloppy circles from his hind legs.

Arrival Story:
On a leisurely visit to a local pet store a liter of newborn puppies no larger than the palm of her hand melted my sisters heart. One month later, my sisters, my mom & I innocently returned to find that (of the previously not-for-sale, newborn liter) only one adorable puppy was left. He was the size of a sneaker with impossibly soft fur & sad eyes that were hard to resist (he obviously missed sisters). We took him out to play and the instant he happily ran down the empty dog food isle & slid into our arms we were sold! My sister decided to name him Derby after her then-favorite band, Daphne loves Derby. When we brought him home, our dad was furious -but, a few short weeks later our elderly pomerainian passed away the upbeat compainionship of the new puppy captured even the heart of my devastated dad. In the next year, my sister went away to college, my parents divorced, & Derby, my younger sister, my mom, & I moved away and into a new home. It's hard to imagine how we could have got through it all without Derby. He'll always be a puppy to me!

Derby lives in a house of all girls, (fitting, being that he was the only boy of his liter) including myself (16), my sister (15), & my mom. It's no exaggeration to say he falls in love with everyone he meets (of the human variety), & easily charms with his quirky antics & adorable characteristics. His personality is larger than life & his sillyness is only countered my his intellegence, as he always manages to assume the center of attention & milk his most irresistable features for every dotting eye it's worth.
