Bella is sneezing a lot and doing a little coughing--maybe 4-5 times a day. It sounds like she is trying to clear her throat. She is acting normally, eating, drinking, eliminating on schedule.
I'm hoping this is just allergies and doesn't require a vet visit. Right now she is getting honey 3x a day, homemade chicken/beef broth for extra water intake, a humidifier by her crate, and an allergy pill.
She also is getting her usual vitamins--solid gold seameal, acidophilis, salmon oil, and an msm capsule.
I hope she gets better soon or we have to take her to the vet.
We need pet insurance pronto.

Bella injured herself; thus, resulting in another period of indoor rest. She was NOT happy.
She leapt from my husband's arms, and landed on her leg in an awkward way. She then started picking up her rear foot and bunny hopping when running. Of course, my mind went terrible places--broken bones, torn ACL, luxating patellas, etc. We took her to the vet after watchful waiting 4 days. We got full x-rays done, and nothing was broken. PHEW.
The vet sent us home with metacam and orders of no jumping, running, getting on the couch, going on stairs, etc. I found that keeping a Shiba Inu calm is a difficult task. After about the 4th day of the anti-inflammatory and crate rest, she began walking normally again.
Last weekend she was entirely better and back to her usual self. She went to the dog park yesterday and jumped off a picnic table. I held my breath when she did it... I was scared she reinjured herself.
ANYWAY, Bella is better. The doctor says her growth plates are not quite closed yet, so she may get a little bigger. She's hovering around 13 pounds now at almost 9 months.

Today we attended the Brooklyn Shiba meetup, and there was a Japanese film crew on site! They were making a documentary about how Shibas are gaining popularity in NYC. I got lots of pictures taken and on camera! I'm trying to not let it get to my head, but everyone in Japan will soon know of my awesomeness...
