Arrival Story:
Saw an adoption ad for Ice on Craigslist in association with a local rescue organization. The then current foster mom brought Ice to meet me and, well I couldn't resist. She is not only a stunning dog, she is a goofy, brilliant best-pal in the making!

Originated at a breeder, person that purchased her abandoned her and left her in apartment. Rescued and adopted by nice family but some aggression issues required them to surrender her to a shelter. Was rescued from shelter by a local Northern California rescue. Adopted twice before me by folks that either didn't take the time to gain her trust or couldn't be bothered... back to rescue she went. I feel fortunate to have lucked upon this fine girl. She has found her forever home with me, that's for certain. I hope to overcome the aggression issues in time.

Dog-ma went to the Texas K9 Team Classic put on by Micmac Teaching for Dogs ( that showcased the talented handlers and dogs involved in security/protection training. I didn't go to this one because I tend to not play well with others yet, plus dog-ma was doing photography there and she only has so many paws (humans are so under appendiged).

Dog-ma says she thinks I'd like this training - that it would build my confidence and that I'd get to bite the bad guy :) but only when she says it's OK. She said all the humans were really nice and that I'm real smart like those dogs. I hope I get to go...

OK, it's March and I'm way behind on my dog-urnalism.

Had my first gigunda family Christmas (that's what dog-ma called it). The pre-holiday stuff was interesting what with colored paper crackling, a tree in the living room (humans are weird) with sparkly lights and shiny things dangling off... And did I mention the tree moved! The thing went round & round!

Lots of things called presents stacked under said moving tree, which dog-ma said "leave it" about so I didn't mess with them. On "the big day" mom let me meet everybody but then went to my room because it was too hectic and crowded... Fine with me, phew!

Sad though cause right before Christmas dog-ma's papa got sick and had to go to the people vet. He stayed there a long time. Dog-ma and granny would go visit and bring his scent home for me to smell. I missed him cause he gave me cookies and threw my hedgehog toy every morning. In February dog-ma stopped bringing papas scent home and granny was very sad. They said papa went to heaven. I miss him...

I guess that's all for now dog friends. Love your people with all you have!

I know, I know! I skipped July & August... but I was having too much fun to get on the computer.

I learned to swim finally! No more splashing in the wading pool! It was pretty scary but dog-ma lured me out into the swimmy part with my favorite squeaky toy. Now I love running around the pool and jumping in to make a big splash AND fetch my toys! It's VERY exciting :)

I also went to training once a week to learn how to behave better in public. That whole men & other dogs thing just makes me very nervous and then I puff all up and be as ferocious as I can (it works - they go away). But I did pretty good in training - even learned a little bit about agility. Dog-ma says maybe we'll go learn that some more when its cooler.

It's been soooo hot... 100-110 degrees all of July & August. I like staying in the house with granny & papa. They have "air-conditioning".

Well, that's all for now. I'm gonna put a new picture of me swimming up right now. See ya!
