Favorite Walk: I like Walks in Crescent Lake Park in St. Pete Best Tricks: I know how to sit but mom and dad rescued me from some bad people and they didn't teach me much when I was a pup Arrival Story: My boyfriend Wes and I went to the Humane Society for a cat and Wes saw Mr. Biggs. He looked so sad in the kennel and was so skinny. He is so huge, I said noway we can handle a dog like that! Wes said too bad I want to see him and he signed up to get him out for a play date. He was so pitiful. He ran up to me and I was a bit scared since I didn't know this huge doberman that I always thought of as aggressive breed and he just dropped his head in my lap and left it there! I was a goner. He is my soulmate dog. I have never loved a dog so much. I was going through a rough time in my life and so was he, he was so skinny, scared and beat up. I couldn't sleep at night so Biggs and I would take walks in the middle of the night. I think he really helped me through that time and I am forever greatful for him. It is funny how unexpected things come into your life for a reason. Bio: When we got Mr. Biggs home from the Humane Society it took him a bit to adjust. You could tell he was abused and just scared of all surroundings. He literally hid behind our mailbox shaking for 5 minutes before he would come in the house. Once we got him in I hugged him and Wes went to the store to buy him a bed. He stayed on that bed for a few days and now it is his safe spot. A couple months after bringing him home we found out he had heartworm after being cleared at the Humane Society. We gave him heartworm prevention regularly so he must have had it prior since they were pretty bad. He went through the treatment and it was really rough and painful on him. It took 9 months on no walks or playing. Poor guy. His main profile pic on Dogster is the day he got cleared to go for a run again. We took him to the beach and he had a ball!
