Christmas? What are you?

Today my pawrents did a very unusual thing, they put a tree inside our house! Then they put sparkly things all over the inside tree and put other pretty thingies all over our house. They put lights around the house and little men everywhere with white beards and fat round man thingies called "snow men".. I tried to chew one that had a little bag of toys and Momma said, "Kiki you dont want to be on the naughty list do you?" What is this list, who's writing it, are they watching me?
I have never seen any of this stuff before and I was VERY curious to say the least! I sniffed all over the place and followed Daddy around until he put me on the couch because I was getting in the way. I watched attentively from there. Momma brough out a box of shiny balls to put on the inside tree, I smelled them. She put a piece of fabric with the "snow men" on it under the tree to hide the tree legs. It said, "I ♥ Snow"... I ripped the letters off when Momma wasnt looking. She didnt get mad at me but spoke again of this "naughty list", how peculiar?
After all this Momma sat on the floor and brought out bags of goodies, she took them out of the bags -after Mini and I inspected them- and wrapped them in red and green paper with the bearded man's picture on it. Then she put silver and gold ribbon on the goodies. After all this wrapping and ribboning all the goodies went under the inside tree. How curious? Are my pawrents losing their marbles? Should I be concerned about this "naughty list"... The whole while they were even listening to music about White Christmases and Blue Christmases and Hippopotamusses and even Chipmunks! Tell me I am not alone, anyone elses pawrents suffering from Christmas-itis? Mini said it doesnt last forever but this is awfully strange.
I am off to have a nap, I wonder if images of Sugar plums will dance in my head...

ps. One song said Mommy's kiss this Santa CLAWS?! I dont think my Daddy's gunna be happy 'bout that....

Bye Bye Vet- I kept some toofers!

Kiki's a little tired right now so I'll fill everyone in..

Here I am, Momma, listening to music with Kiki on my lap. She's sleepy right now but doing a lot better than I expected. She bounced a little when we got home but her eyes are a little glossy still and I knew she needed a nap. So here we are. :) The Vet called us right after her surgery and said the tooth rot was espessially bad, (guess what- that means they charge more!), but they were able to save the molars and fangs, only the little teeth in the front had to go. Maybe in the next few years more will have to come out but we'll take that as it comes. The Vet also said that because the rot was so bad he thinks we'll see huge changes in Kiki's demeanor and energy levels. This is great news, 2 bouncy balls of energy now hahaha! They said not to feed her until around 8pm and they doubted she would show interest in food... I knew they were wrong. As soon as we got home Kiki looked at her bowl and up at me!! LOL, we'll feed her as soon as she's done her nap. The girl loves food!

Bye bye toofers!

UPDATE: Kiki is booked to get her toofers removed Wednesday. She's going in around 8-9am and we pick her up around 3:30-5pm, as long as everything goes as planned.
Please send POTP that everything goes Ok and maybe lil Kiki can even keep some of her toofers!

I've got an owee- Again!

Yes it's true I have an owee again.
Friday morning after a nice restful sleep I awoke to my back paw all big and puffy with an icky lump in the middle just like what happened to my front paw before.
Daddy noticed it right away and after we all drove Momma into work -I love car rides!- Daddy took me to the Vet. The Vet put a new cast on my back paw and put needles in me to take my blood. I am brave though, Daddy doesnt like needles but I wasnt scared.
I guess the icky lump "burst" because I'm not limping anymore. Tomorrow we're going to the Vet again so he can take another look to make sure there's no more infection. Also we got my blood test results and it's probably my rotten toofers that are causing all these owees. The toofers are putting "bacteria" in my blood and those mean bacterias are giving me these paw infections and might also be causing the little bald spots on my neck that wont go away.
I am gunna get my toofers out soon, by the end of the month Momma says. We're going to see the lady from my Rescue tomorrow, (hopefully!), and she might help out with some of the Vet bills. Momma said in her next life she's gunna be a Vet because they must be "rich". I said in my next life I wanna be a hooman so I can eat hooman food but you know that silly Momma doesnt understand me ;)

*Update on the foot and teeth situation

It turned out not to be a cyst they think, but debris that got into my paw and got infected. So it popped open and nothing was in there, the Vet cleaned it all out. So now I have the cast to help it heal and stay clean. The new cast has a heart on it ♥ My teeth are another story and Momma's kinda upset with our rescue lady for not telling us my teeth were rotten and some had been previously removed. So Momma and Daddy have to save their money, (incase it turns out to be a little more than expected as Vet bills usually are), and probably at the end of October when Momma has hoidays I'll get them removed. I get wet food all the time now and I am a lot happier.... I dont share with Mini, but she's being a really good sister.

Today has been an eventful day.
This morning I woke up, went potty, ate breakfast crunchies, said bye bye to Momma and Daddy, napped, played, napped...
Daddy got home.
Greeted Daddy, went potty, played a little, Daddy went to pick up Momma, napped...
Momma got home.
I didn't get up to greet Momma. That makes her sad and worried. She said, "come on Kiki, come on baby girl, dont be lazy!" But I wasn't lazy, I had an owee.
Momma picked me up. Daddy saw my owee on my paw. My paw was twice its normal size, with a big icky bubble on top.
I went to the Vet.
The Vet said it's a cyst and I have a funny toy on my paw, Momma calls it a cast. I get in trouble if I try to chew it. We have to go back to the Vet again on Saturday and take it off to see how my paw is doing.
What made the Vet and my Daddy very mad, and made my Momma get water in her eyes, was when the Vet said I need to have all my remaining teeth pulled out.
Daddy said only people can get dentures.
We're going to have to wait a little while so Momma and Daddy can save their money, Momma's also contacting my rescue who said I had a full dental check when I most definitely didn't.
We'll see what happens and I'll keep everyone updated.. while I'm not napping.

There's a little difference...

Over these past months Kiki has grown in leaps and bounds. She's gone from a terrified dog in the corner to a loyal companion. She really has her sister Mini to thank for learning how to play with other dogs and to play with, (and kill), toys. Kiki gets unconditional love and praise from her Daddy and I, we never want to push her to learn and change faster than she's ready to.
One huge change I have noticed lately, something little that pulls on my heart strings is Kiki's goofball personality but mainly a new light in her eyes.
Kiki came to us not even a dog. She was a little statue who cringed at the thought of being picked up; but now she runs to the couch to be pulled up and plays like a little trooper, even does zoomies. Starting this week when I look into Kiki's eyes I see a changed dog, and a dog that has thoughts. Before I would look into Kiki's little doxie eyes and really not see a lot going on in there. We're used to looking at Mini and seeing her sneaky eyes always thinking and making mischeif but Kiki really had nothing there.
This week I really see Kiki's eyes have changed. She's grown into her own self and she is a new dog. She's always changing still, I know, but of everything this is huge for me. I want to know she is really comprehending and even being a little "sneaky" sometimes. When she gives me "puppy eyes" or how her eyes literally light up when she sees me puting food into her bowl and does the goofball-kiki dance. I love it.
I guess sometimes it's the little things in life that make the big differences.

1. Do you ever wake your parent up in the night?
Yes as a matter of fact I do and I do it with a scary noise! We're not sure if it's a side effect of being de-barked but sometimes I just start coughing really loud! It's most effective in waking up my parents when it's about 3:30am!!

2. Do you ever tear up things?
I do try.

3. What is your favorite treat?
I LOOOVE these dried duck fillet treats, yummy and chewy!

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?
I am only learning to fetch but my sisfur Mini is an excellent fetcher!! I do it sometimes but if Momma throws it to far that means Mini's just gunna beat me to it!

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now?
I sure did. I lived in a puppy mill in Taiwan for most of my life then not long ago I came to Vancouver and lived for a couple weeks with a foster Mom before I found my forever home.
