Leave a bone for Homer

Special Gift Box:

Sun Sign: Birthday: June 17th 2003
Arrival Story: My husband and I already own 2 rescued greyhounds. I was not keen on getting a 3rd. However, when my husband met Homer, he decided we should adopt him. Homer is 7 years old and walks with a limp. He raced in Florida and was adopted to a family in Tennessee. However, the weather and snow was too cold for Homer and he would not walk. Being an older dog, not many people would want him. Well, here he now is with me in his "fur"ever home. As you can see by his smiling face, he is happy to be here!

We came back from Mountain Hounds in Gatllinburg, TN. There were 325 Greyhounds! It was a lot of fun. We got to run loose in a field. At first I didn't know what to do when Dad let me off my leash. But after my younger brother Calvin took off...I just followed him. What fun! That is what being a Greyhound is all about. Mom won me a Thundershirt in a raffle. I sure hope it helps because I hate thunder and storms. Dad also won some poop bags for playing bingo. There was a ceremony for departed hounds and Mom honored Dante. We want him to know that we are always thinking of him since he was the first Greyhound in the house. We got to meet a lot of other Greys and their humans; played a lot of games; and had our pictures taken. Dad wants to go again next year. Then we got to visit with our human granddaughter who has never met us. We don't get to see her often because she lives in Tennessee and we live in Florida. Now we are all home and back to our usual routine.

As you can tell, I had a great time riding in the car to Sandy Paws at Jekyl Island Georgia. The weather was great! We saw a lot of other Greyhounds. We got two new beds to take in the car, some new toys, and a lot of treats. Dad bought a new Greyhound shirt and Mom got a new magnet to put on her car. Mom also took an art class and made a picture with 5 silhouettes of Greyhounds. At the end of May we are going to another Greyhound convention, but this time in Tennessee. We all can't wait!

If there is someone I forgot to thank for wishing me a Happy Birthday or someone that I did not acknowledge for sending me a birthday present, I want to apologize. Mom says that she is not always the greatest and keeping all of my pals straight. Well, I want to thank all of you...wet noses and sloppy kisses...
