Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 10th 2009
Likes: Hunting, running, and meat. In that order.

Pet-Peeves: Strollers (for some reason?), cows

Favorite Toy: Jackson, of course; and the occasional stick if it will goad another dog into chasing him.

Favorite Food: People food... especially bread and hot dogs!

Favorite Walk: Louie doesn't walk. Louie runs.

Best Tricks: Super athletic, whether tearing over an icy hill at 15 mph+ or jumping 5 railroad ties per hop.

Arrival Story: Louie and his brothers, Huey and Dewey, were picked up from a neglectful situation when they were 5 months old. They all lived at a local college as "practice" for vet students there. Huey and Dewey were adopted by students after all the dogs had their health cleared and neuters done, but Louie was sent back to the Humane Society to find a home. I came on Saturday to walk the dogs as usual, and here's this spotty, long-eared, pink-nosed hound with happy tail and no socialization whatsoever. After six months with us, in which he blossomed greatly, he went on to a new home.

Bio: Louie was originally an adopted dog, but we came to realize who wasn't a good long-term fit with our family, and vice versa. We eventually returned him to the shelter as per our adoption contract, and due to his improvement, he got a great new home and we got a position on the foster list.
This dog taught me so much in such a short span of time. Together we got past his happy tail, his anxiety, has lack of any socialization and I became a better person for it. I can never thank him enough for that (and I would do so with roast beef).
I promised him I would take him out of those kennels, and I wish could apologize for making him ever go back, though it was only a few days.
They say the first one is the hardest.

Forums Motto: I'm not a dog; I'm a gerenuk.
