Arrival Story: I was working at a no kill animal rescue and when we were loading up animals into a van to go to the vet this white truck stopped and they dumped her right in front of us. I called her to me and she came right up, looking happy as ever as though she hadn't just been abandoned by her owners. It was love at first sight. While my co-workers finished loading up the other animals, I got her a kennel with food and water. I was so excited to get to play with her and to get to know her over the next 6 weeks of quarantine, because I knew she would be adopted fast. She was just too cute! After I got her all set up I went to take care of some other things and walked past my manager and co-worker talking about how sad it was that she was going to be euthanized because she was so cute and sweet. So I stopped and asked why? After all, she hadn't been there long and I didn't know what they could already know about her. Evidently the pit bull rescue was full and the only option was for the local humane society (which does not adopt out pit bulls or dogs they think to be pit bull mixes, there fore they are left with euthenizeing them.) to take her because the no kill rescues insurance did not allow pit bulls. I panicked and begged to be able to keep her. I was told that if I could get someone up there to pick her up before the HS did, that I could have her. I did, and I still have her now.
