Arrival Story:
Jasmine was left with my veterinarian in Lawton, OK by a family that was relocating and couldn't take her along. She was barely a year old when we brought her home. I will never understand how they could give her up. She's such a great dog!
She was very well-trained and adapted to the country in no time.
The only undesirable trait she had was a tendency to roll in cow manure now and then. She never barked until 4 yrs later, when we moved to Corpus Christi, TX.
Bio:
I've often wondered if she came from a family with a member who was hearing impaired. Even now, she'll come and "paw" me if she needs to go out. She'll bark at the back door to come back in. True to breed, she's very protective of home and family.
One day, shortly after we moved here, we came home from work to find that she had apparently scared off an intruder. The livingroom furniture had been moved, the television was turned around and halfway disconnected, and there were several food items removed from the fridge and left on the counter. Thanks to Jazz, they never made it to the other rooms. Having seen the way she reacted when the landlord walked in through the back door as he was doing some repairs, I can well imagine how the burglar or burglars felt when she came out of the bedroom and realized they weren't us!
