Arrival Story:
Grover's family moved and decided not to take him with them. Its not by ANY fault of his because as his foster mom I can tell you that I have not seen a mean bone in this boys body, he is nothing but pure love and extremely dedicated! This is probably why when they moved he stayed on the porch and whined night and day waiting for their return. My other dogs love him and even the cat at the vets office loves him, along with anyone that has met him. He just warms your heart :) Put in an application if your interested in meeting him, but beware to meet him is to LOVE him!!!
Grover would do better in a home where he has a nice bed (preferably with human) to sleep in. Also he gets really painful at times so it would be best not to have someone jumping on him, he will yelp out in pain.
Medical issues: Severe arthritis, heart murmur

July 12 - Hey everyone it’s me Grover! I really have become quite settled in my foster home now and love having a bed to sleep in at night! I love my naps and resting in the shade. I occasionally get bursts of energy when I hop around in a circle shaking my nub to let everyone know I am excited! I can’t go on long walks but I don’t mind short ones. I love people and am so lovable that everyone always wants to give me a kiss and say Hi! I don’t mind other dogs and I get along really well with the ones in my foster home! I am an old man so I just don’t like being jumped on sometimes because it hurts and makes me yelp. I have never been mean about it though, just a big love bug!
How to Adopt:

Requirements to Adopt:
Applicant(s) must be 21 years of age / Applicant(s) must be able to assist with transport of your new dog / Applicant(s) must agree to a homevisit and follow-up homevisit / All personal pets must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and on heartworm prevention./ Adopted boxers are required to be kept on heartworm prevention and current on vaccines for the duration of their lives./ Boxers will only be adopted to indoor homes.
Adoption Fees:
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue's adoption fee is between $250 & $350, unless otherwise noted. All of our Boxers are fully vetted (including:neuter/spay, rabies vaccine, HW test, dhlpp vaccines, fecal and worming) as well as treated for any injuries or illnesses prior to adoption. All of our Boxers are on heartworm prevention.
Please Note:
Details on individual dogs will not be discussed until we have received and approved your application and your home visit. After both of these requirements are met a Representative will contact you and answer any questions you may have.
We only adopt our boxers to indoor homes located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virgina - Thank you for considering adopting from Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue

Hi everyone, its me Grover and do I have a story for you! You see my family
moved and left me. I don't know why, but I REALLY thought they were coming
back for me so I sat on the porch and cried day and night in hopes they
would hear me and realize how great and loving I was and come back for me.
Much time passed.....they never came :( Animal control was going to take
me, however a kind neighbor asked the great people with Blue Ridge Boxer
Rescue if they had room for me. Well guess what, the lady that came from
the rescue to meet me fell head over heals in love and took me home to give
me a bath and good meal! I also got to sleep in a warm bed at night with a
teenage girl that kept telling me how much she loved me. I got such a warm
feeling and finally knew I was never going to be alone again. I am great
with other dogs, and cats, well with just about anything. I don't have a
mean bone in my body! They think I am about 8 years old, but still have
that playful boxer spirit! I tap dance every time I get excited and roll on
my back to get my belly rubbed. I love to snuggle and think I can fit onto
you lap! If you think you have the perfect home for me let the kind people
at BRBR know, until then I will be hanging out with my foster family playing
with my foster fur brothers!!
