THE BEST THANKSGIVING EVER!!!!!!!

Hi everybody! I haven't written in my diary for quite a while. I have been really busy guarding my house from crows and deer, and taking care of my momma and daddy. You will never guess what -- last week there was a party at my house. Mom and Dad kept calling it Thanksgiving dinner. (Did I hear dinner????) Well anyway, my Aunts and Uncles all came and some little guys Mom and Dad kept calling their Grandbabies. I played with the little guys as best as I could, but they really wore me out. Then everybody sat down at this big long beautiful table. I heard my Mom say that we had one too many places set because one of her Grandbabies brought his own chair (I think they called it a highchair). Well anyway, when everybody sat down, there was that one empty place at the table. I figured that must be my spot, so I just jumped up on the chair and sat there with everybody else. After a couple of minutes, I think someone noticed I was at the table, and my Dad said that I could stay because I was family too. So there I was, having Thanksgiving dinner with all of my sweet family. I had turkey, something they called dressing, mashed taters, and I can't even remember all of the good stuff. After dinner, I even took a snooze with all the guys. Now I know why they call it Thanksgiving. Love and blessings to all of my Dogster pals, and especially my Cousins Millie and Oliver.

A VERY BUSY DAY

Hello to all my Pup Pals and Dogsters everywhere. I had kind of a rough day today. First of all, the UPS man came and dropped off something, so I had to bark my head off at him and chase him away. Next, Mom and Dad both left me alone for a couple of hours, and I got bored and went on a rip in the house. I took all the pillows off the couch, the blankeys that were on the back of the couch flew around, then for the main event I got all of my toys out and scattered them everywhere. Just when I was looking for more fun to have, Mom came home and started picking everything up. I did manage to grab some toys and run them upstairs into our bed so I would be ready tonight at bedtime. Mom and I had lunch, and then to my horror, THE CABLE GUY came to do some work. By now I am pretty tired, but I had to bark at him just so he knew who was boss here. I finally got rid of him, and Dad wanted to take me and Mom for a ride to the store. Well this wasn't too good because when I got in the car I discovered a bag with a ball and some toys in it. Dad quick whipped it away somewhere, and I had to ride all the way to the store and back before I could get home and check that bag out. Now I am really tired -- almost too pooped to play with the stuff in the bag (Yawn, Yawn, I will tell you more later.) Love MAAAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

When Momma and Daddy have to leave me home.

I was thinking today about sometimes when Momma and Daddy have to go out for a while and leave me home alone. When they first rescued me, they promised me that I would never be hungry, cold, or in a cage again. They have always kept their promise. However, there is one thing that still kind of scares me -- Mom calls it separation anxiety. That means that I get kind of lonesome and scared when they go away for a little while. What really helps me is that they always tell me that they are coming back when they leave, and Dad puts my favorite blanket on the couch for me to snuggle up in. Then I try to take a snooze until they get back. They tell me when they get back how good I have been, and that makes me want to be good all of the time. Sometimes they bring me a little something like a new toy, or better yet, a few bites of something in a doggie bag. (I really like to try all kinds of human foods.) I just wanted to tell my Pup Pals about this separation anxiety thing, and maybe there are some suggestions here for other doggies who have this problem. Love, kisses, and lots of licks,
MAXWELL
