Pet-Peeves:
When Auntie Jo scolds her and gives her the Kyi-Leo volcano growl! Jo-Zi is the alpha dog and really can wrestle Dar-Ce and hold her down on her back. But, all in all, Darce is a very happy little girl!
Favorite Toy:
She loves the neon green monkey-monster tug toy from West Paw. Both girls really enjoy that one.
Favorite Food:
She loves turkey and salmon...and CHEESE! Yes, she is a Wisconsin girl, too! She also loves Stella & Chewy's...very yummy!
Favorite Walk:
Crissy Field and Pine Lake Park in San Francisco.
Best Tricks:
Flying down the stairs and leaping three stairs at one time.
Arrival Story:
Dar-Ce chose us to be her guardian when we visited her (and her littermates) in late August 2010. We spent a few weeks enjoying all the puppies as they grew and grew each day. During our visit, Dar-Ce also began following Jo-Zi around (much to Jo-Zi's annoyance at first). We thought and thought about her throughout autumn and most of winter, made the best decision, knowing that Jo-Zi would end up loving her little niece, and Dar-ce arrived in San Francisco on 13 March 2010.
And, the rest is history. She and Jo-Zi (niece and auntie) are the best buddies and playmates imaginable. The girls are constantly entertaining everyone with their hilarious hijinks, including: Jo-Zi ambushing Dar-Ce with a pounce on her back leg; Dar-Ce chasing Jo and latching on to her tail, wrestling and playing bitey face whilst standing on hind legs a la little Tyrannosaurus Rexes, and the list goes on and on!
Oh yes, the girls are Green Bay Packers fans!!!
Bio:
Dar-Ce was the fifth pup born of a litter of seven--six girls and one boy. This was a very large-sized Kyi-Leo litter. Before Dar-Ce was named this summer, she was "the puppy known as No. 5!" Jokes were made that she could have been named "Chanel!" All the puppies are gorgeous.
Dar-Ce made her confirmation show debut in late May of 2010 at the Kyi-Leo Club Show, going Best of Winners, her first major, with Aunt Jo going Best of Show. (Jo-Zi is perhaps the winningest Kyi-Leo since Ch. Kei-Mar's Ru-Ka.) As an added note, Dar-Ce's handsome little brother Bo-Dhi went Best Opposite Sex. As pups, Bo-Dhi and Dar-Ce looked so much alike, you needed to turn them over on their backs to see which one was which! And then you could tell!
