Playing with Rocco

This was the most joyful ever short hike with Susie. The friend of mine visited me with her 8yo boxer Rocco. Both dogs were friendly and interested in each other but did not really play when in my backyard till we all went on the walk in the woods. Susie really went crazy with joy: jumping in and out of the muddy stream, alternating laying in wait and pouncing on Rocco, running in circles and jumping back and forth over the fallen tree trunks. I never know what triggers her behaviour. Only a couple weeks of weeks ago I went on the similar walk with my daughter and her 2 goldens. The goldens played but Susie was doing what my daughter described as a "death march": walking a step behind me with her head and tail down all the way. Most her off leash behaviour is somewhere between these two. Hoping for the next trip like this!
