Diego loves toys. He plays with several at one time, throwing each in the air in turn. He loves to play with his big sister, Hallie. And he loves other people.

He hates his crate, but he's getting used to it. He hates to be left alone.

Favorite Toy:
Stuffed animals and raw hides.

Favorite Food:
Wellness puppy food

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere. He likes going to the pet store.

Best Tricks:
He's learning to sit for his dinner. He also stands on his hind feet to beg. He looks like a meercat.

Arrival Story:
As a member of a Schnauzer rescue group, I was called upon to travel through bumper deep snow to an animal shelter in the mountains of Preston County WV to pull a "Schnoodle". The idea was to pull him, clean him up, and send him along to a foster home to be vetted and put up for adoption. As it turned out, there was a huge influx of rescued Schnauzers that week so Diego had to stay with me until a foster home could open up. He immediately bonded with my other boy dog. My girl dog found a playmate and even the cranky old cat decided he liked Diego. Diego quickly learned to use the doggie door and actually taught the 9 year old boy dog to pee outside. It was a match made in Heaven.

Diego has a disorder for whch there is no cure. He can't old his "licker". Yep, that's right. He's a kisser. He's never met a stranger. Everybody, two legged or four legged, is his best friend. We're not 100% of his breed. He's definately at least half poodle. The other half is a mystery. Maybe Schnauzer. Maybe Yorkie. Do you know what the difference is between a "designer dog" and a "mutt". Location! Designer dogs are in pet stores and newspaper ads. Mutts are in shelters. Other than that, there is NO difference. People!!!! Look on www.petfinder.com and see all the great dogs available. There is NO reason to breed or buy while dogs like Diego continue to die in shelters.
