Arrival Story:
I first saw Louie's picture on Petfinder.com. We were not looking to adopt a dog, as I was working at the SPCA and already had fosters in our home. After I saw his face, and read how he would be killed within 7 days of being processed, I could not sleep. I HAD to save him. I called the shelter, and pleaded with the workers to keep him until I could figure out a way to get him. The angels at that shelter held him for a whole month for us!
We picked up Louie Easter weekend in 2007. He was skinny, had an ear split in half, was missing most of his teeth, and boy did he stink! The travel home was pretty rough, lol. He ended up having a bad intestinal infection, and was estimated at between 8-10 years old. We had no idea he was that old! My husband and I both already loved him though, so he was our first senior rescue.
Louie is such an important part of our family. He is an amazing watchdog, but also the sweetest dog you could ever meet. He has never met an animal or person he did not like. Even in his old age, he has so much patience, and lets our baby boy crawl all over him.
Louie is a blessing from God and we could not love him any more than we do.

I went peacefully in my mom and dad's arms to the Rainbow Bridge this past Monday. I will always be remembered for being the best dog ever to my family.

Mom never lets me get on here anymore. She doesn't have a lot of free time, and when she does, she goes on Facebook (whatever that is!). My little boy is 17 months old now, and mom is expecting a little girl furless in a couple months! My little boy and I are best buddies. It's a good life. I hope all my pup pals are doing well.
