Must be in a home that has the following: Chaos would like for someone to ALWAYS be at home with him in his new FURever home as he does experience a high level of separation anxiety. Due to Chaos large structure & stance I believe it best that he finds a FURever home with strong leadership skills & consistency. Medical issues: Besides being on medication for separation anxiety which we are working on, Chaos has 2 torn ACL's, 1 on both back knees. He will need a TPLO surgery on each back knee with an 8-12 week recovery period for each. He is currently taking Rimadyl to help with his arthritis & inflammation. We have added a couple of supplements which have also helped his arthritis/inflammation- glucosamine/chondroitin & fish oil. Needs work on: Separation anxiety/crate training.

EXTREMELY GREAT NEWS everyone...uhhh- I think!!! At least that’s what hear. I have been scheduled for my 1st TPLO surgery - for a fully torn ACL in my back knee. If you've kept up with me so far, you'll know that I have 2 of these torn things, but I can only take care of 1 at a time. My 1st surgery has now been scheduled for MON, SEPT 13th. My foster mom & dad say that I'll be out-of-commission for quite a while- ugh - while healing...doesn't sound fun to me. But they have explained that once this is over, I'll feel so much better & that my wiggle-jiggle will be the best ever! And that it won't even ache to do it. They say I might be able to climb stairs without bunny-hopping too. Remember, I'm a BOXER, not a bunny...don't know how anyone could mistake this lean-mean-boxer-machine for a bunny- ha.

Stay tuned for more Chaos medical news updates.

Howdy Guys & Gals,

CHAOS in da' house!!!
I'm a new member of this GREAT BIG BOXER FAMILY called Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue & it's a good thang because I'm a GREAT BIG BOXER, currently weighing in at 95.8 lbs. But as my foster mommy & daddy tell me, I'm just a 7 yr old, big-boned boxer, seriously, just big-boned! You should have seen their faces when they 1st met me, I was actually a few lbs heavier...I'm sure it was a pleasant surprise though...95.8 lbs of PURE BOXER LOVE!

I'm currently up-to-date on all of my vaccinations including rabies & the best news is that I'm HW negative. I have finally recovered from the neuter surgery as I had some slight complications---an allergic reaction to the brand of sutures used. Of course this is something kind of rare & unique, like me, & could not be foreseen. This info will travel with me in my medical records so that I won't have to suffer again from being allergic to any more stitches/sutures...so no need to worry because we found another "brand" that worked :)

My foster mommy & daddy would like for me to tell ya a little about myself---they told me to brag since I've got nothing but POSITIVE things to say :)

I'm the best wiggler & jiggler ever who LOVES to give wet, slobbery kisses to everyone- adults & kids. Foster mommy & daddy say that I'm a very intelligent boxer as I'm always looking at them for direction- I'm aware & in-tune to them which makes me easily trainable. I already know how to sit & shake & am working on the stay command (this one is really hard- especially when you want to wiggle & jiggle all of the time, why stay?!) We are ALL working on my leash manners- I've always had the philosophy that I should be able to go WHERE I want, WHEN I want (remember @ my weight, I've always won that battle- teeheehee). Foster mommy & daddy says that's gotta change & with the "front lead" EZ Walk harness it already IS changing. Since the leash attaches to the front of my harness (the chest area) I have to follow my chest...& guess who directs that now...yup- foster mom & dad! This is supposed to be a good thing so I'm willing & able since I really like to please my peops!!

My foster home has 2 boxers- 1 male that's 6 yrs old & 1 female that's 10 yrs old- both of which I get along with. Since my neuter surgery I feel like playing all of the time...between naps, that is. My favorite thing to do is to grab any furry toy in my mouth & throw it up in the air as high as I can & then try to catch it--- once I actually did catch it & my foster parents were shocked [& so was I...but I'd never tell]. When my foster boxer brother & I play toys in the house...watch out cuz it gets "boxer noisy" in here, then foster mom & dad have to calm us down a bit so it doesn't get out-of-hand---whatever that means...we're Boxers & we're boys & boys just wanna have fun, duh!!! (but we do know how to listen). At least my foster boxer sister knows it's safer to just stay out of the way since she's a "senior" petite thing---she never gets in trouble. And, even though I obviously like to eat, I have shown no food-aggression either, to humans or dogs. See why they told me to brag now?! Also, about the eating, my foster parents are feeding me inside a crate...they said something about trying to "crate-train" me & that this is "only the beginning of the crate-training"---oh my.

One last thing I heard my foster parents say- they said that I do NOT have that "typical stubborn boxer streak"---do ANY of you other boxers or humans out there know what they might be talking about- heeheehee?!? I'm thinking this is another great thing for me to brag about!!

One last bit of news that I must share. Before finding my FUR-ever home, I will be needing 2 TPLO surgeries for my 2 back knees. I have full ACL tears, 1 on each back knee. These tears & the arthritis & inflammation that comes with it is causing me some pain, whether walking, sitting or laying (& ESPECIALLY trying to climb ANY steps/stairs- ugh! & ouch!). I'm working on losing weight to maybe help with these issues & I'm looking for a part-time job to help pay for these surgeries...any ideas?!?! Each surgery, which will have to be done separately, will require an 8-12 week recovery period- ugh again!!!

So, as you can tell, I'm quite the package- A HUGE, JOLLY PACKAGE!! Once my medical issues are worked out, I can be yours FUR-ever. I will show true dedication, love, wiggles & jiggles & ALL of the wet, slobbery kisses you could ever imagine!!

See ya,

Chaos

*Age*-
7 yrs old.
*HW Negative.*
Good with - ALL dogs, but keeping a close eye out for very small dogs because he has an "eagerness" about him to want to "play" w/ them in a domineering way. (will keep us updated on this).
Good with - ALL peops & kids; however due to his size it'll be best to be cautious w/ really small young children.
Good with - Not sure about cats, but heard from the vet that he's OK w/ cats. Will be checking on this @ a later date.
Energy Level - (1-lazy/10-hyper w/ 3 mile walk required daily) -6- will play whenever & will sleep whenever.
Must be in a home that: has strong leadership skills due to his size. Chaos would do fine as an only dog or in a multi-dog (medium-to-large dogs) home.
Needs the following: Working on crate-training (still). Someone is usually home @ our house so it's hard to say whether free roam or being crated while left alone is the best right now. Eventually we want him crate-trained as we feel it's the safest way to go.
Due to his torn ACLs & his size, Chaos prob would NOT jump a fence...even after surgery...but fences ARE ALWAYS nice. Moderate exercise needed, like a daily neighborhood walk.
Has medical condition: Diagnosed w/ major separation anxiety (mental-based versus behavior-based). Being treated w/ fluoxetine (generic prozac) & desensitizing training/modification.
2 full ACL tears, 1 in both back knees. TPLO surgeries to take place separately w/ 8-12 week post-op recovery period b/t each. Will be available for adoption afterwards.
Needs work on - Completely house-broken. Knows "sit", "shake", "stay", "crate", "toy", "outside". Likes to please!
Working on crate-training (still). Working on leash-walking.
UPDATE:
Chaos is still quite the wiggler-jiggler & LOVES everyone he meets. We're working on setting up his 1st TPLO surgery for his left back knee. Chaos has to be the BEST KISSER in the whole wide doggie-world! He has the best boxer personality & does NOT have a mean or aggressive bone in his body. Chaos wants to please (& play w/) everyone.
