Arrival Story:
Gidget, like Bo, was unwanted when she arrived here. I already had 3 and just didn't NEED, another dog. The picture where she is setting on the lap of someone wearing redcover alls was taken about 3 days of her being here. I was in my studio working, I heard my dogs barking at the back gate. I went to check it out, low and behold, a tiny little thing that looked more like a large red rat than a puppy. I went out and scooped her up. She was so very tiny, with a horribly swollen belly. It was October and starting to get cool in the evenings. She was shaking and scared. I brought her in, an gave her food/water and warmth. She was very shy the first day, and because she was so small, I was afraid for her well being. My other dogs are big, and 2 are avid hunters. I really was afraid even set her down. To my amazement, they sniffed at her, but turned and walked away once they realized she was a female. It was late on Friday when I brought her in. She spent the first night in a dresser drawer inside my walk-in closet. She was tired and slept all night. I let her walk around the house the next day and she literally took over the entire house. She jumped on every dog I have, and they all just accepted it. She has ruled the roost since. On the Monday after I got her, she went to the vet to get rid of very obvious worms. He belly was so swollen, (look at the pic with the red coveralls and you can see how badly it was swollen) anyway, they guessed her to be about 7 to 9 weeks. She still had puppy breath and sharp little teeth. She slept in the closet for about a week, when one night my husband couldn't sleep, so he went and got her put her in bed with him and she has been a bed hog ever since. She is by far the most energetic dog that I have ever had. The vet though she was a boxer, as she did look like one as a young pup, but now over a year later, she hasn't grown to be a big dog, and looks less like a boxer. The picture of her in the pool were taken late last fall, and she is still no bigger. she weighs about 35 to 40 lbs. She is hyper-active, and fearless. I am amazed that my dogs put up with her the way they do. She jumps on them while they are sleeping, she will take food from their mouths if I don't keep her away, and if any of them tried that with each other, I would have a dog fight from hell. But with her, they just give her anything she wants. They all play with her, but only one at a time. Bo (my pit) loves her best. They are best buddies and play for hours a day with each other.

Gidget has quite the personality. She is impulsive, pushy, bossy and sassy. She is spoiled beyond what I would have ever allowed my own kid to be, and she thinks this world belongs to her. Most dogs love to please their owner, Gidget believes she is the one who should be pleased. She is a bed hog, the worst chewer, and did I mention bossy!!! She has sweet moments, mostly when she is sleeping. I wake up with her precious little head on my shoulder, snuggled down in my blanket and I think she is the most precious thing in the world, but then she wakes up!!! I love all my dogs so much. My oldest Hector, because he is my best friend and he is so very loyal to me. Teddy because he is such a sweetheart and he does't require alot and is happy to just be. Bo because he is so misunderstood, so very precious and he is special because of his very odd personality, but Gidget is just something else. She keeps me laughing, she keeps me busy, she keeps me entertained and always waiting to see what she does next. She is simply rotten to the core!!! I have to admit that I love every minute of it!!!
