Likes:
Everything that is a potential toy! Chasing and wrestling with Ringo, greeting daddy when he gets home from work, walks, and belly rubs.

Pet-Peeves:
Being told to sit when I'm begging for food, being told "no" or "down" when I REALLY want human food, someone not throwing my ball...

Favorite Toy:
Everything is a potential toy, but he LOVES his volleyball and smaller squeaky balls.

Favorite Food:
ICE CUBES, ICE CUBES, and MORE ICE CUBES!!!! Oh, and any human food daddy is willing to feed me when they eat ... it's ALL good, except cherries, I HATE cherries...

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere and everywhere there are new smells, sounds, people, or doggies!

Best Tricks:
Playing catch by himself, fetch, tug, chase, sit, no, down - and more every day.

Arrival Story:
Oscar was a belated birthday gift from my husband. Best birthday present EVER! DH and I were putting off adopting a dog, but decided it was time. I found Oscar on the web site of my local animal control and immediately fell in love! When I met him he ran right up to me , whined, and put his head on my foot. After that, he just wanted to be held. He was so pitiful, I knew he was meant to be my dog.

Bio:
We think Oscar is a Wheaten Terrier mix, he sure looks like a lot of Wheaties and Wheatables we've seen. It's really not important to us, he is just our wonderful mutt! He was VERY shy when he first got home, but has gotten so confident he's willing to guard our home now. He's very protective of me and his kitty brother and sister, but not to the point of being agressive- which is great. He is absolutely wonderful with other dogs- once he gets over his shyness that is! He's still wary of other humans, especially males, but is getting better all the time. He's so incredibly obedient, sweet, and funny and never fails to surprise us with a new trick he's picked up all on his own (like tossing the ball into my lap when he's ready to play- the dog has great aim!) Oscar is the best dog I could have hoped for. I'm so happy we found him and he is now in his forever home.

My new brother.

Mommy and Daddy brought home a new brother named Harley. I like him ok, but he's a little bit of a bully.

I'm not as fast, strong, or smart as he is so sometimes I feel a little silly and left-behind, but Harley always seems to want to include me in everything he does so I guess it's not so bad.

He's pretty fun to play chase with, and he taught me how to lift my leg! Mommy and Daddy think that's awfully funny! I'm teaching how to catch food in his mouth even if his eyes are covered in fur :) He does ok, but I'm still better at playing catch.

I really like our new house. Mommy is making it a point to walk me and Harley every day for about 45 minutes. Sometimes it takes an hour. I get tired, but Mommy said that's the point! Silly mommy, I can be tired at home!

Harley is teaching me not to be so scared of everything. I still don't get his fascination with other dogs and some people, but whatever. I prefer to be by myself a lot.
We had a pact- whenever we're outside Harley is the one on guard. He said he's got a grandparent that was something called a "Pit" and apparently that can be intimidating. So he is protective of us outside. He's not agressive at all, he rarely barks, but he looks like he could be mean so he said he handles outside security. I handle inside security. Mainly just checking the perimeter and alerting everyone to every odd noise I hear. I'm learning my duties well though and now only bark if someone seems to be a real threat to our house. If it's something really interesting Harley checks it out too.

It's really fun having a brother around. I miss Emme, but I never got to play with her and she didn't want to play with me at all. I hope that wherever she is she's happy, that's what Mommy and Daddy say but they always cry when they say it *shrug* I don't get it. Even so, Harley is a wonderful big brother- and he's almost the same age as me! I'm still the baby in the house but not by much now! Ringo calls us his "annoying little brothers" but then we just snip his legs and torment him a little bit. He's a good big brother, but doesn't like to wrestle like we do so he usually just watches.

That's all for now. Mommy introduced me to something called a "Nylabone" and that's my favorite toy now. I need to go find it before Harley steals it!

My very own yard!

Well it's been a while since mommy has allowed me on the computer. We all did something very stressful called "move" and now I don't have to walk up and down those stairs anymore!
We moved into something called a house. I don't know what that is compared to where we lived before, but I like it. There is a lot more room for me to run- especially in my very own backyard!
Mommy and daddy got the backyard completely covered in grass so I could go potty easily and run, and run, and run! My volleyball is a permanent fixture out there and I love asking mom to go out and play fetch with it. I'm even getting pretty good at kicking the ball where I want it with my paws- mommy says it's very silly and cute and I should be on tv with tricks like that!

Ringo and Kami aren't allowed outside. Mommy and daddy say Kami will get lost because she's stupid, and Ringo probably won't get lost, but it's not safe since he can leave the "yard" - I don't know what that word means yet though. So they sit in the window and watch me play with my volleyball.

Sometimes I ask to go out just because it's very nice outside- I can go lay in the grass or on the porch and will sit there for hours if mommy would let me- but she doesn't because she gets worried about me! Silly mommy.

Anyway- apparently when things get settled more Ringo, Kami, mom and I will be sharing a room in the house- right now mommys stuff is in it- we all like it best because we can see out the front window and watch all the people and cars go by during the day.

Mommy and daddy even said something about a new little brother or sister! Mommy says probably not until January, but I hope I get a new little brother for Christmas- that would be so much fun! Mommy said "no way" since we're supposed to do something called "foster" and might have a houseguest for christmas- so it will definitely be after that. Daddy and I are going to try to convince her otherwise though.
I sure miss Emme and wish she could see the house and play in the yard with me. Mom and dad said Emme went to a better place where people take care of their pets and where no pet is ever in pain. I hope she's happy there.

Well, I just ate dinner and played in the yard so it must be nap time.

'Night all

Slippers!

Well, not too much has happened since my last entry. One of mom and dad's cars broke down, so mommy can't take me for rides like she wanted to, but she says she will be able to soon enough.
She also says I'm getting pretty big. I might even be up to 30lbs! I don't think so, I'm pretty sure I'm still the same underfed, scrawny 10 lber that was adopted just a few months ago. I keep hitting my head into stuff and getting too rough with Ringo. He must be shrinking, 'cause when I first got here we were the same size and now I'm at least twice as big... how odd.
My days are usually spent sleeping, talking walks, and playing with mom, dad, Ringo, and sometimes Kami. Kami is still mean, but better. I've learned that I really don't have to chase her every time I see her- it's rarely worth it anyway, so she's being nicer to everyone when I'm around now. I knew this would all work out eventually.
I have a new favorite toy - mom's slippers. Anytime the closet door is opened just a little bit I sneak in there and pull out her slippers, I know I shouldn't but they are SOOOOOO fuzzy- they've got to be toys! Why does she get to wear them on her feet? Mom says that she might just teach me to fetch her slippers, if she could be assured I wouldn't eat them first! Maybe that's a good compromise... I'll think about it. For now I'm going to take my after breakfast nap in mom and dad's room. Have a great day and may it be filled with all the slippers you desire!

Ruff,

Oscar
