Arrival Story:
I casually mentioned that I would get a small dog when I retired. This lead to a constant get a dog.get a dog get a dog refrain. Then emails of dogs that need homes from the spca. So off to the pound just to look as retirement is years away. There was Remy in a huge cage with a Yorkie, could you resist that face? He was all of 4.5lbs all hair and bones and bad teeth. Seems he had had a rough start and was very scared of men and boots. Off to the vets for dental work and groomers for a new do,pet store for duds and he was all set.

Bio:
After we had rescued Remy and he had been with us for 6 months he was feeling less threatened and we began to feel he was settling down. My husband began to take him to work some days as he can be very quite and likes to be near us but very happy just to sit or sleep near by. After work my husband took Remy to the fishing store for a short visit, during this trip the door opened and out he went . Within a few minutes he was missed and the search was on with all the fishing guys out looking . They looked until 11 at night and no Remy anywhere. Posters were put up and police informed as well as spca. Remy had two id tags and a chain collar on plus a chip id in his shoulder. Weeks went by and we got a tip our dog might be up for sale. The sting operation was put in place but alas it was not our Remy. His picture and id were put on the internet. After 3 months I gave up and moved his house( kennel )out of the family room and gave away all his stuff. That weekend my family went away on different holidays my daughter and I went to Vegas my husband to a remote fishing lodge and my son and girlfreind to a Prov. park. When my son and girlfreind arrived home first there was a call from the spca that they had my dog. My husband went to get him and found out he had been dog napped as a mother's day present as he was looking so cute having just been groomed and then when he got away onto the streets where he had been for awhile protected by a stray jack russel terrior. All his id and collars had been removed. Remy was very excited to see my husband and the chip proved his identity. When they picked us up from the airport and we were home Remy got home too. I thought I wasn't lucky as I hadn't won in Vegas but this proves I am as Remy was home. He was back to 4.5 lbs and really matted but that was soon remedied . He's much better at staying close now and comes when called but we still keep a very close eye on him and he is always carried or leached when out.I got Remy for a companion animal, and now I'm his companion when ever he deems he needs company or a car ride. ha.

Remy is sad to tell you that his companion Tsuki has passed away and is greatly missed. He looks for her every day and can not make sense of it all.
