Leave a bone for Layla Birthday: July 29th 2000 Arrival Story: Layla is a beautiful, smart, energetic, and loving nine-year-old chocolate lab. She has lived with me for two and a half years, after her previous owners had to give her up due to changes in their circumstances. For a number of reasons I can no longer give her the attention and exercise that she needs and deserves, and due to some pending changes in my living situation, I am seeking a new home for her.
It would be best if Layla’s new owner(s) had previous experience with dogs, and she should not live with children. She would do best in a home on a quieter street, since she does bark when people approach the house. She would also appreciate a large yard, since she loves to chase balls. She gets along well with some other dogs, particularly unneutered males, so living with another dog might work. I do not know how she would be around cats.
Layla loves to go for walks and rides in the car. She also likes to snuggle and be petted. I don’t let her up on the furniture, but I believe that her previous owners allowed her to sleep in their bed. She has the run of the house when I’m not home and for the most part leaves things alone.
She is in good health, although she has a seasonal allergy that causes her to scratch and lose a lot of her hair twice a year (it grows back quickly).
