I was looking for my first working border collie, and dad called a good friend of ours who had bred border collies for years. Dad told him that it didn't matter whether it took a month or a year, just to find us the best pup he could with good working bloodines. He called the next day to say he'd found the perfect pup and Tess came to join us two weeks later!
Tess's full name is Dolwen Tess, and she was bred by Barbara Hamer. She comes from a long line of fantastic working dogs, with champions throughout her pedigree, and she is an excellent dog herself, the main working dog on our farm now. She is also the foundation bitch for our stud, Delisa Border Collies.

All about Tess:
Tess is a black and white border collie, with very traditional markings, and a beautiful big white collar. She has some spots on her legs, but not a lot. All in all she is my one in a million, no dog will ever replace her, I love her more than I thought it possible to love anything. I've been given offers from people who want to buy her twice, but she means more to me than any amount of money could ever replace.

So, because I'm the oldest and the favouritest dog here at Delisa border collies( though Lisa made me promise not to tell the others!), I was told today that two of my latest litter of pups will be staying on here. That will bring us up to a total of 5. There's me, Tess, the world's smartest and most beautiful border collie, who joined the clan 5 years ago as a 10 week old puppy, and Lisa says she can't remember what her life was like before I arrived.
After a few years here learning to work sheep and just, I had a litter of gorgeous puppies, 6 beautiful girls. One stole Lisa's heart, and Delisa Pip stayed on with me and her dad. She's a wonderful wee girl, but if she tries to steal my ball one more time, she better learn to sleep with both eyes open. She's nearly three now, how time flies!
When Pip's dad Claddy died just before Christmas, he had become too old to use as a stud dog, and so in November I went to Christchurch to get in pup to a beautiful pedigree stud dog called Dolwen Taff.
Before I went up, Marj who owned Taff sent Lisa some photos of another stud dog she had, Fran Zeb, who she had a litter of pups by at the moment. Lisa saw a tri colour dog pup's photo first and fell in love with him. When I came home after the two longest weeks of Lisa's life, so did Roseneath Banjo. He's nearly five months now.
Then at the start of this year, my pups were born. 3 beautiful girls, 1 tri colour and two black and white, plus 4 dogs, one tricolour, three black and white. They were all so gorgeous, and 3 have already left for their new homes, Lisa said this is a very special litter because they were all sold before they were born due to their bloodlines. Jock is living in Mosgiel, Blade is on a farm up Mangatua, and Jade went to the breeder in Chch for the service. Bella and Buddy are leaving next week.
That will leave us with two new furkids here. Delisa Glenfiddich, Glen to his friends and family, is staying on to become a stud dog for outside bitches, or in the event we ever add some unrelated bitches to our clan, then he'll be used over them, and will be Lisa's dads new working dog after the loss of our gorgeous Claddy. Lindsay also hopes to do some trialling with Glen when he's older.
Delisa Holly is also staying on as the future generation of breeding bitch. She's a very sweet little girl, with quite heavy mottling on her legs. She will Lisa's dog, but she better get in line, everyone knows Lisa's mine and I DON'T like to share.
Anyway, Lisa said to tell our friends to watch out for Holly and Glen's pages when she gets time to add them!
Woof for now,
