Gizzy Turns TWO!

April 28th was Gizzy's 2nd birthday. He and his sister Yoduh got to share some yummy "Frosty Paw" doggy ice cream and some Greenies! Gizzy also got lots of attention and a stuffed toy which he loves! I bet he would definately say that he had a great DAY!!! Could you imagine him being more spoiled than he already is!?!

Gizzy's First Birthday/DOG CAKE RECIPE

April 28, 2004 was Gizzy's first birthday! I was so excited for him. He, apparently, had no idea! That all changed... He got birthday presents too! My sister gave him a little birthday suit (a tank top with a jeweled number one on it), he got bandanas, and some dog toys. I also made him a special treat.. A BIRTHDAY CAKE. He and his brother Scooby LOVED IT!

Here's the recipe:
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup chopped/shreaded carrots

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all dry ingrediants together first, then add wet ingrediants. Stir, (will be thick). Put into greased cake pan. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes. (Cake will not rise).
Top with optional cottage cheese, or plain yogurt. I sprinkled the top with carrot shavings and pretzel crumbs. Your dogs will love it!

MN Pet Expo 2005/ GREENIE OBSESSION!

This past weekend I visited the Minneapolis Pet Expo. It was a great time. I wanted to add Gizzy into the "cutest pet in a costume" contest, but I missed the deadline. I was bummed. Anyway, as I walked past all the booths that featured a specific breed of dog, it made me wonder if there was a booth for Chihuahuas. I looked and scanned the expo twice, and never saw a booth! It made me curious to think that of how popular Chihuahuas are, they didn't even have a booth there. Despite my disappointment, I enjoyed myself anyway. I got some GREENIES as a sample from their distributor and some cute bandanas for him to wear. As soon as I got home, I knew Gizzy and his brother Scooby could smell them because they chased after me into the bedroom where I put the bag of GREENIES down. Without noticing I hadn't shut the door fully, I went on with my business. About 15 minutes later, I walked back into the bedroom and there was the bag fully ripped apart and GREENIES lying everywhere! I think they must have shared atleast 5 GREENIES each! Every day since then, Gizzy begs for them, and jumps on the cuboard where I keep them. Naughty little Gizzy!
