It's been two weeks since our Poppy left us and I'm still going to the dog-sofa every morning before it dawns on me that no-one's there. I've totally changed now that Poppy's gone - after our Mishka went away a few months ago it was very hard, but I still had my Poppy to love and focus on - now each day I'm sleeping more and more, and I don't want anything to do with mammy; everytime she tries to touch me I snarl at her and just want to be left alone.
Yesterday we went for a walk in the little town where we're moving house to when mammy can manage it and I totally perked up, because there were people to meet and dogs to get excited about. Next door to our new home they have a dog and we are making friends, which I like a lot and so I was much nicer to mammy that day. It's been great to live in the countryside with Poppy and Mishka, but now they're gone I really miss dog company.
Mammy has been trying to find a new sisfur for me, because we both need one real bad to help us feel happy again. She's been very downhearted that there are no rescues or for sale that would suit our furmily, I think because we live quite rural and so there are very few dogs available, unlike in a city where they have big shelters or lots of different dogs for sale. The main ones here are working sheepdogs or guard dogs, but we couldn't have any of those, so mammy is keeping on searching everyday until we get lucky.
Mammy is finding it very very hard to get through the days without Mishka and Poppy, but I really don't care, because I'm just looking after number one until things change and we're a proper furmily again.
Before I go I just want to give a bark out to those furpals who gave a few kind words in comment to Mishka's and Poppy's final diary entries - Thank you. xxx
I'm not sure when I'll be writing again, so in the meantime I wish you all the very best health and give you lots of friendly licks until later.
Hello.
I hope you will read that my beloved MISHKA and POPPY have both passed into the beyond this year very close to each other.
I'd just got over missing my Mishka and now my Poppy has gone too, which is weird and every morning I still do a big jump to the dog sofa to lick her awake... but she'd not there. Slowly I'm getting used to it; though mammy is not.
We are all we have now, but mammy will be getting another fur baby as soon as she finds one that is right for us the way Poppy and Mishka were; then we'll have lots of fun together and mammy will smile and laugh and sing again... and I will have someone to play doggy stuff with, which I'm looking forward to very much.
We won't be back to Dogster until we have a new family member to add.
Hi all. Sorry I've not visited for such a long time, but mammy has been too busy with getting through the 2011 Hell Year to find free time to enjoy on Dogster. I hope you're all happy and well. I'm doing really fine. I haven't had a day of illness yet in my life and thankfully no big accidents either (even though I do very stupid stunts at high speed). I'm a mature young man now, but still acting like a pup most of the time and can't get enough of my toys!
In 2011 mammy had planned to get me a wife, but it never worked out for us even though there had been two lovely looking ladies lined-up it never happened - mum tells me it's because their owners were fakers and the girls never actually existed. So mammy is taking a break from looking for a while until our home situation is more solid, because we have problems to sort out first; but later on this year she's planning to start looking for my wife again - I hope it works out this time, because I REALLY need a wife now I'm a young man and also because I need a more active playpal - I so very dearly love my Poppy and Mishka and we play together and snuggle a lot, but it would be great to have someone to run around with and chase as fast as I can go!
Mammy says we'll try to visit you again soon when she can find some free time. We're getting new pics/vids taken this week, so I can show you how handsome, funny and sweet I am - as if you didn't know that already! Love you all. xxxxx
