Arrival Story: Toby was born in September 2009. I bought him in February 2010 from Gill Mason of Elms Kennels (Amsema Papillons) in Doncaster, England. His UK Kennel Club name is Amsema Hot Toddy, and his parents are (sire) Ch Thoughts of Stardom at Amsema out of (dam) Kingshaven Wish Upon a Star.
Bio: I HAVE VIDEOS please get to know me by watching my videos in my video book; there are lots and mum adds to them all the time! Toby is a very fine young chap with an astonishing intelligence. He's a hairy ball of frenetic energy with a brain that works as fast as lightning. He loves his sisfurs POPPY and MISHKA to bits. Toby's extremely loveable, funny, cute and clever; and he's a tough strong little guy despite his small size who loves the big outdoors, including getting wet and muddy! He's also lightening fast, sneaky and cunning; which has earned him the nickname of Ninja Master.
Last Saturday mum came home with a little furgirl to be my new friend, because I've been missing having furpals at home very much since my POPPY and MISHKA went away. I'm not lonely anymore! It was pretty strange for the first day, but by the next day we were getting used to each other and started playing. Every day we've gotten to know each other more and more, and I'm falling in love. BOL! My little girl is following me all the time when we're outside and I'm looking after her really well, which I'm enjoying. Today we had such a great playtime in the garden for ages, chasing each other with a feather, and it was such fun; I got quite tired out, but had a huge smile on my face. Now I have a furpal to wake up again every morning and that makes me feel so happy!
It's been two weeks since our Poppy left us and I'm still going to the dog-sofa every morning before it dawns on me that no-one's there. I've totally changed now that Poppy's gone - after our Mishka went away a few months ago it was very hard, but I still had my Poppy to love and focus on - now each day I'm sleeping more and more, and I don't want anything to do with mammy; everytime she tries to touch me I snarl at her and just want to be left alone.
Yesterday we went for a walk in the little town where we're moving house to when mammy can manage it and I totally perked up, because there were people to meet and dogs to get excited about. Next door to our new home they have a dog and we are making friends, which I like a lot and so I was much nicer to mammy that day. It's been great to live in the countryside with Poppy and Mishka, but now they're gone I really miss dog company.
Mammy has been trying to find a new sisfur for me, because we both need one real bad to help us feel happy again. She's been very downhearted that there are no rescues or for sale that would suit our furmily, I think because we live quite rural and so there are very few dogs available, unlike in a city where they have big shelters or lots of different dogs for sale. The main ones here are working sheepdogs or guard dogs, but we couldn't have any of those, so mammy is keeping on searching everyday until we get lucky.
Mammy is finding it very very hard to get through the days without Mishka and Poppy, but I really don't care, because I'm just looking after number one until things change and we're a proper furmily again.
Before I go I just want to give a bark out to those furpals who gave a few kind words in comment to Mishka's and Poppy's final diary entries - Thank you. xxx
I'm not sure when I'll be writing again, so in the meantime I wish you all the very best health and give you lots of friendly licks until later.
I hope you will read that my beloved MISHKA and POPPY have both passed into the beyond this year very close to each other.
I'd just got over missing my Mishka and now my Poppy has gone too, which is weird and every morning I still do a big jump to the dog sofa to lick her awake... but she'd not there. Slowly I'm getting used to it; though mammy is not.
We are all we have now, but mammy will be getting another fur baby as soon as she finds one that is right for us the way Poppy and Mishka were; then we'll have lots of fun together and mammy will smile and laugh and sing again... and I will have someone to play doggy stuff with, which I'm looking forward to very much.
We won't be back to Dogster until we have a new family member to add.
